How To make Barbecued Ribs(Four Great Southern Cooks)
5 pounds Pork spare ribs
Salted water 1/2 cup Butter
1 medium Onion
:
finely chopped
1 cup Water
1/2 cup Vinegar
1 cup Tomato catsup
1 cup Commercial barbecue sauce
:
(hickory smoked type) 1 Lemon (juice from)
Salt to taste Fresh ground pepper :
to taste Tabasco sauce to taste
Slice the ribs apart and place in a large cast iron skillet. Cover with salted water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer over low heat for one hour, or until the meat is fork tender but not falling from the bones. While the ribs are cooking, prepare the sauce. Melt the butter in a saucepan and saute the finely chopped onion. Stir in the water, vinegar, catsup, bottled sauce, lemon juice, and seasonings. Bring to a boil, stirring, and remove from heat. Place the ribs in a shallow pan and cover with the sauce, coating the ribs evenly. Place in the refrigerator for at least two hours. Barbecue the ribs on an outdoor grill over moderately hot coals, basting with the sauce and turning often until well browned. Typed by Carolyn Cloe Don't *WE* feel superior!!!! Bill

Remove the membrane off the back of the ribs using a butter knife and a paper towel, just like you see in the video. Then use some California Olive Ranch olive oil ( as a binder and coat generously with your favorite rib or bbq rubs.... I used the Bearded Butchers Hollywood rub and it was perfect! Cover a large baking sheet with foil and place the ribs in the oven for 2 hours at 350F with the oven rack set close to the bottom. After 2 hours remove the ribs, set the oven to 450F, and coat the ribs with barbecue sauce. Return the ribs to the oven for 10min at 450F. Turn the top broiler on and leave the ribs in for 3 more minutes (MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE RIBS ON THE BOTTOM RACK OR YOU WILL BURN YOUR RIBS). Remove and let them rest for a few. This is a great time to take pictures and brag to your friends! These are better than slow cooker ribs and instant pot ribs. Believe me....there is nothing wrong with meat in the oven!
I love this baby back ribs recipe and so will you! These oven baby back ribs were absolutely perfect in every aspect. Got the winter blues? Give them a try, and I will see you next time at Anderson's SmokeShow!
