How To make Baked Brisket Of Beef
7 lb Brisket
3/4 c Water
3/4 c Ketchup
3 ea Medium onions, sliced
2 ts Worchestershire sauce
1 tb Chili powder
2 ts Vinegar
1 ts Salt
1 ts Paprika
1/8 ts Ground red pepper
Brown meat under broiler on both sides. Combine water, ketchup, onions, worcestershire sauce, chili powder, vinegar, 1 ts salt, paprika, and red pepper. Pour over beef in roasting pan. Bake, covered, for 4 - 5 hours at 325 deg f. Check to see if done after 3 1/2 hours. Bake only until meat is tender. Check occassionaly to see that liquid is still there, adding if necessary. Serves about 15 people. -----

Preheat oven
Bake Temperature 250 Degrees
Second bake Temperature 380 Degrees
Bake time- 50 Minutes per pound of brisket
6.5 Pound brisket was baked at 250 for 4 hours.
Second bake- 380 Degrees for 1 hour
The last 3 minutes switch over to broil
6-8 pounds of Brisket
3 Tbs soy sauce
3 Tbs whostershire sauce
2 Tbs water
2 Tbs yellow mustard
1/2 Tbs celery seed
1 Tsp apple cider vinegar
1 Tbs brown sugar
2 Tbs sugar (brown or white)
2 Tbs Liquid smoke
1/2 Tbs curing pink salt (optional, but highly recommend)
Pink curing salt tip
TIP!T he longer you keep the raw brisket with curing pink salt, the larger the pink ring will be at cooking time. Think less I more.
Dry Rub
2 Tbs ground ginger
2 1/2 Tbs chicken bouillon or 2 Tbs sea salt
2 Tbs freshly ground black pepper
1 Tbs ground cumin
1 Tsp smoked paprika
1 Tsp chili powder (guajillo chili powder)
1 Tbs garlic powder
1 Tbs onion powder
Optional 2 Tbs butter place at time of broil
