How To Make Chocolate Babka with Breads Bakery
Edan Leshnick of Breads Bakery in NYC makes decadent chocolate babka in the Munchies Test Kitchen. Edan starts with the dough, made with whole milk, eggs, sugar, salt, vanilla, butter, yeast, and two kinds of flour. The mixture is blended slowly in a stand-up mixer to form the babka’s stretchy gluten texture.
After letting the it rest, Edan rolls the dough into a long, thin sheet, spreads on a layer of Nutella, and sprinkles in chocolate chips. Then, Edan rolls the dough tightly into a roulade to create lots of layers. After cutting his roulade in half, he braids the dough into its famous babka shape, places it into molds, and bakes. Finally, when the babkas come out of the oven, he covers the crust with his simple syrup resulting in a sweet, caramelized treat you won’t want to share.

How to Make Chocolate Babka Muffins | Perfect Braided Mini Babka Bun Recipe
This fun sized babka is awesome and it is super easy to make. The four-strand braid will make you look like a pro even though it is the easiest thing in the world.
Soft and fluffy dough layered with a rich cocoa filling. You can customize it to your taste by choosing a different filling. The only thing to look out for is consistency as a runny filling will turn this into a nightmare.
If you have made babka, then you will be familiar with the process. Of course, there could be many variations to the dough. I chose a relatively low hydration, not too much fat and sugar and no preferments or sponge to make things as easy as possible.
You just need a few basic ingredients, which a lot of you will most likely have at home and you will need a few hours of waiting time. There is not much to say about this one.
The soft brown sugar used in each part of this bread gives it a nice richness and the glaze makes them shine with a dark brown colour.

How to Make Babka (Chocolate Swirled ✔️ Orange Glazed ✔️ Completely Delicious ✔️ )
One of you has requested a how- to-make-babka video for months... here it is! Babka is super fun to make and though it is a bit more of a process than some breads, it's really not too complicated overall. Plus, know this: at any phase of the process, you can tuck the dough in the fridge and pick up where you left off the next day.
The base of this babka recipe is the dough for a favorite challah recipe with the addition of orange zest and vanilla. The chocolate filling is from the Jerusalem cookbook's chocolate krantz cake recipe. Some babka recipes call for water in the sugar syrup that the babkas get soaked in upon emerging from the oven, but here, I've used fresh-squeezed orange juice.

Chocolate Babka Wreath
Chocolate Babka Wreath
Ingredients:
120 g warm milk (1/2 cup)
110 g butter at room temperature (1/2 cup)
70 g granulated sugar (about 1/2 cup)
10 g active dry yeast
2 eggs
1 teaspoon of salt
500 g flour
For the Filling:
1 bowl of chocolate spread
cracked hazelnuts
Instructions:
In a bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and a teaspoon of sugar. Allow the yeast to rise for 2-3 minutes.
In a kneading bowl, mix all ingredients except butter. Knead for five minutes.
Add butter and continue kneading until a soft and smooth dough is formed. Cover the dough and refrigerate overnight for fermentation.
Flour the counter and roll out the dough into a large rectangle.
Evenly spread chocolate cream and sprinkle with cracked hazelnuts.
Roll the dough starting from the long edge. If the middle is thick, stretch it to thin it out.
Cut the roll in half lengthwise. Wrap the remaining part as shown in the video, forming a wreath. Let the dough ferment for 15-20 minutes.
Bake on the lower shelf in a preheated oven at 350 F for 30-35 minutes. Optionally, cover with wax paper after 20 minutes to protect it.
Serve when cool. Bon appétit!
The Best Chocolate Babka Recipe (Chocolate Brioche Bread)
I don't know if I would call this recipe foolproof, but I would say that it is very consistent and extremely straightforward (and relatively easy) to make. This is a pretty classic chocolate babka with a buttery brioche dough twist. It's a rich bread with chocolate that swirls all through each slice. A huge crowd pleaser, and great for just about anything. If you're a fan of chocolate or bread, then this will be your best friend.
