Cooking with The Couchsurfer, ep 13: Argentinian food
The recipe straight from the masterchef Larizza:
Argentine guiso Carrero ( from Corrientes )
Serves 4
* 2 tablespoons olive oil
* 8 chicken pieces (Brest or thighs)
* 3 medium onion – chopped
* 1/2 red or green peppers
* 2 cloves of garlic – crushed
* 140g frozen veggies ( peas , corn , brocoli )
* 2 x 400g cans chopped tomatoes
* 250 grams of white rice
* 1/4 – 1/2 tea spoon of curry and kurkuma.
* 200g peeled potatoes – chop
* salt and freshly ground black pepper
Cooking Method
Heat the oil in a large frying pan or saucepan on a medium heat. Add the chicken the onions , the peppers and brown on all sides.
Then add the garlic and fry for another minute stirring occasionally to make sure none of it burns.
In another pan boil the potatoes and cook for a a further 4 or 5 minutes stirring . And then when they are ready take out the water and let them cold .
Meanwhile in the pan where you have the chicken add boiled water and add the rice and bring to the boil then simmer gently for a few minutes to let it reduce a little. Once it has reduced add the can of tomatoes ,the curry and kurkuma and stir well. Bring it all to the boil then put the frozen veggies and the cooked potatoes in and make sure it is covered by the sauce. Simmer for about 5 minutes and then taste and season with salt and pepper

About me:
My name is Eivind, I am a thirty six year old Norwegian guy living in Oslo, Norway. I am quite new to the YouTuber travel vlog sphere, but hope that you find my videos cool, and as time pass by I hope you see my content getting better and better. My goal is trying to enlighten and brighten your day by giving you interesting videos about traveling, meeting people and eating food from all different kinds of cuisines. Another thing that I want is to break down barriers of travel and prejudices of foreign countries and cultures. My opinion is that most people and cultures are friendly, but unfortunately sometimes media gives a biased view.
Usually my travels goes to places that are a bit out of the beaten track, like smaller cities or just less known cities, where I explore the neighborhoods or head into the nature. If possible, I`ll bring my drone also, but this has become more difficult in recent years due to strict regulations. I will also try to make some videos about my home country Norway, one of the most beautiful countries in the world.
On my travels I like to connect with the local people. Usually I do this via Couchsurfing, either just by meeting up with people to explore together or by actually staying at their place. I also wander aimlessly around in places talking to random people.
I do host a lot of people in my place in Oslo, maybe someday it will be you.
One of my biggest passion in life is food. And when cooking and eating together with nice people it`s the best. I make some videos together with some of my guests, these are really fun to make and I also learn to make new dishes. Maybe you can come cook with me?
Another thing I try to is enlighten people about the environment, especially the plastic problem we have all over the world. In almost every country I go to there is garbage all over. I film it and put it in some videos here and there. As a tip for you, try to pick up one piece of plastic everyday, and of course, never throw any in the first place.

ARGENTINE FOOD TOUR | Patagonian Cuisine feat. Trout + Deer Stew + Artisanal Chocolates and More! ????????
Hey guys! We are Samuel and Audrey, a travel vlogging couple from Canada. In this travel channel we share our travel and food vlogs while touring the world.
We had the privilege of traveling around Argentina for nearly 3 months from January- April 2019 on a trip covering a large section of the country.
We kicked things off with several days in Buenos Aires where we were joined by Audrey's parents eating and sightseeing around some of our favourite neighbourhoods in the city. We then flew from Buenos Aires to Cordoba where we spent a couple of weeks in the Sierras of Cordoba visiting both La Cumbrecita and Villa General Belgrano with highlights including hiking and delicious German and Swiss cuisine.
Our time in Patagonia continued as we headed from east to west trading more barren landscapes for thick forests, impressive mountains and magnificent lakes. We spent significant time in both Esquel and El Bolson with day trips to visit Trevelin, Parque Nacional Los Alerces, Cholila and Lago Puelo. Highlights included sailing, hiking, riding vintage trains and partaking in the national asado festival.
We finished visiting Patagonia with time spent in Villa La Angostura, San Martin De Los Andes and Bariloche where we enjoyed more stunning scenery and hiking. Overall, we had an amazing time travelling around Argentina having only scratched the surface of this vast and diverse country.
Overall our Argentina travel series explores cities, small towns that are off-the-beaten-path, and scenic attractions with a strong emphasis on Argentina cuisine and local culture.

BEEF STEW RECIPE - Cooked in a Pumpkin - Tasty Dinner
I will describe this recipe in a plastic, metaphorical way. It is a spiritual experience, transposed into the material mineral-vegetable-animal-or-how-everyone-perceives-it.
What I want and I hope to be able to convey, is that feeling of needing self-protection, but a protection that you get from outside, maybe even a safety measure, like a kind of mantle, which don't let yourself get rid of what's inside. A true introspection, during which you can't really run away from yourself. You boil in your own juice, and from this process your essence results. The essence that is not lost anywhere, only intensifies itself. Because you are locked in a pumpkin. And you are, in fact, a beef stew. A simple stew, made without finesse, with simple ingredients, without expectations that have their center of gravity outside of you. The exterior only helps you direct yourself even more. So, the pumpkin has a centripetal role in this story. The stew itself means peace with yourself. Meet yourself! Enjoy yourself!
I never get bored, I like my company. That's why sometimes I cook meals that last for hours. I love that. In this way, I have time to imagine myself passing through all the kingdoms. This is my food. This is me.
Here are the ingredients:
800 grams of beef
1 shallot
3 cloves of garlic
2 potatoes
2 carrots
3 stalks of celery
2 bell peppers
1 quince
300 ml of red wine
100 ml of beef stock
200 ml of homemade tomato juice
1 tablespoon of honey
200-300 ml of water
salt to taste
black pepper
a few bay leaf
dried thyme
1 pumpkin( I used a Flat White Boer, about 6 kg - pay attention to its height, so that it can fit in the oven)
a lot of patience
