How To make Apple Fritters

1 egg
1/2 C. milk
1 Tbsp. oil
1 C. diced apple
1 C. sifted flour
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 Tsp. baking powder
Apple Fritters Syrup: 1/2 C. brown sugar
1/2 C. granulated sugar
1/2 C. water
2 Tsp. maple flavoring
Beat egg with milk, then stir in oil and apple. Add combined dry ingredients, stir just until mixed. Drop from a tablespoon into deep liquid shortening heated to 365 degrees. Fry about 4 minutes or until brown and done in the middle. Pour on paper towels. Serve with hot Apple Fritters Syrup.
Apple Fritters Syrup:
Mix all ingredients except maple flavoring in saucepan. Stir to mix. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add maple flavoring. Serve on Apple Fritters.
