How To make Apple Danish

crust:
3 c Flour
1/2 c Milk
1 x filling
1 1/2 c Sugar
2 tb Flour
1 x :
glaze
2 ts Milk
1 c Shortening
1/2 ts Salt
1 Egg yolk
6 c Apples, peeled and sliced
1/4 c Margarine
1 tb Cinnamon
1/2 c Powdered sugar
1/4 ts Almond extract
Mix flour and salt, cut in shortening, combine milk and egg yolk and add to flour. Roll out half the mixture on a floured surface to fit 11x16x1/2 inch jelly roll pan. Place in pan. Mix all filling
ingredients together and spread over dough. Roll remaining pastry and place over filling. Brush pastry with 1 egg white, stiffly beaten. Bake at 375F 45 minutes. Mix together glaze, drizzle over cooled danish. Cut into bars. Source: My mother. Courtesy of Shareware RECIPE CLIPPER 1.1 :

My Mom's Danish Æblekage - Apple Dessert - Recipe
Danish Æblekage is a traditional Danish dessert. Æblekage actually means apple cake in Danish, but it is not a cake, and no baking is involved, so I have no idea why we call it cake. I would say it is more like a trifle, and it is one of the easiest desserts I know.
My mom’s recipe is very basic, but you can add your own twist such as marzipan, cinnamon and honey if you like. You can use most kinds of apples but remember to taste the apple puree along the way, as the tartness varies for different sorts of apples, and you might want to add or leave out sugar.
Ingredients:
Danish æblekage (makes one bowl)
8-10 medium-sized apples
1 vanilla pod
Sugar
1 cup of heavy cream
1 bag of macaroons

Pinwheel Apple Danish. How to make apple danish with puff pastry

Makes 6 danish
Ingredients:
250 g puff pastry
2 tbsp turbinado sugar
Egg wash
Apple Pie Filling ingredients
2 apples peeled, cored, and diced
2 tbsp pineapple juice
2 tbsp salted butter
2 tbsp maple syrup
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon powder
2 tbsp tapioca starch or cornstarch
1 cinnamon stick
For garnish
Cranberries (optional)
For serving
Caramel (optional
Method
Apple pie filling
In a deep pan over medium-high heat, melt butter until browned. Add brown sugar, cinnamon, pineapple juice, maple syrup, cornstarch, and simmer until thickened. Add the apples and cinnamon stick. Cook for about 5 minutes or until thickened. Remove from heat. Set aside to cool while preparing the dough.
Preheat oven to 375° F. Line the baking sheet with parchment paper.
Lightly flour the surface, the dough, and the rolling pin. Roll out the thawed puff pastry to a 12x8 inches rectangle about ¼ inch thick. Cut into 4-inch squares. Make a 1.5-inch slit at each corner of the dough, cutting toward the middle. Brush the edges of the pastry with egg wash. Spoon 1 to 2 tablespoons of the apple filling in the center then pull every second point of dough toward the center of the pastry.
Place one cranberry in the middle of the pinwheel pastry (optional). Sprinkle with turbinado sugar.
Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for about 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm, drizzle with caramel or vanilla glazed (optional).
