14 1/2 oz Can no-salt added tomatoes

Coat a large nonstick skillet with cooking spray; place over medium-high heat until hot. Add the onion, celery, carrot, green pepper, and garlic; saute until tender. Stir in the tomatoes and next four ingredients. Cover, reduce the heat, and simmer ten minutes. Add the kidney beans and cook an additional five minutes or until thoroughly heated. Cut a 1/4" slice off the top of each kaiser roll; set it aside. Hollow out the center of each roll, leaving a 1/2"-thick shell; reserve the insides of rolls for other uses. Spoon the bean mixture evenly into the rolls; cover with the top slices. Serve immediately. Toddler Proof (Un)Sloppy Joes #shorts #budgetfriendlyrecipe #toddlermealideas
2 cans biscuits, homestyle
1.5 lb ground meat, thawed
1 bell pepper, diced small
0.5 onion, diced small
2 garlic cloves, minced
0.5 can black beans, drained and rinsed
1 C tomato sauce
1 tsp yellow mustard
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tbsp brown sugar
2 tsp salt
1 tsp dried basil
¼ c water
oil or non-stick spray
Step 1
In a large saute pan, begin cooking your meat over medium heat. Add oil or non-stick spray if needed.
Step 2
Add oregano, brown sugar, salt, basil and cut vegetables to pan. Mix well and cook until the vegetables are soft and the meat has fully browned.
Step 3
Add beans, tomato sauce, mustard, Worcestershire and water to the pan. Mix well and cover. Bring to a simmer for 2 minutes. The mix will thicken and not be watery at this point. If it hasn't thickened, continue to cook for a few more minutes until it does. When it is done, remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.
Step 4
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Step 5
Pop the biscuit containers and place onto a flat surface.
Step 6
With a rolling pin, roll each biscuit out until about 1/4 inch thick. This should only take a couple rolls in each direction.
Step 7
With a spoon, add meat to the center of the rolled out biscuit. I did about 2 1/2 scoops per.
Step 8
Pinch the edges of the biscuit together over the filling and press until fully sealed. Place seal down on a lined cookie sheet.
Step 9
Bake for 16-18 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.

Better Than Manwich Homemade Sloppy Joes
Sloppy Joes Homemade Manwich
2 lbs ground beef (I used ground round)
1 1/2 onions minced finely (I used my caramelized onions)
1-2 bell pepper (I used a mix of green, red and yellow)
1 6oz can of tomato paste
6-7 ounces of water (I whisked my water together with the paste)
4 ounces light Karo corn syrup (I use 1/2 cup brown sugar just as much as I use the Karo syrup)
4 ounces white vinegar (you need the vinegar, you may reduce down to 2 oz but won't be quite as close to Manwich)
2-3 Tablespoons of Worcestershire Sauce
1 1/2 cups Ketchup
2 Tablespoons of yellow mustard (I used Dijon mustard)
Note* The following can be adjusted to YOUR taste, this is just an average guide (I do use more than this base amount guide):
Fresh minced garlic
1 teaspoon granulated garlic powder
1 teaspoon granulated onion powder
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
Optional:
a cornstarch slurry for thickening NOTE Not really needed (2 parts cold water to 1 part cornstarch)
Note for a much bolder flavor you may add the following to your taste. Remember, if you are new to cooking not used to the following ingredients add them a LITTLE at a time, you cannot take the hot back out! My suggestion is to let folks add it to THEIR own plate!
Red pepper flakes
Cayenne pepper
Tabasco Sauce
Louisiana Hot sauce
Enjoy! This is some GOOD eatin'!
