Slow Cooker Sloppy Joes {Homemade!}
SLOW COOKER SLOPPY JOES
--------------Click on SHOW MORE to see the FULL RECIPE--------------
We love Manwich sloppy Joes but we also love to spend a little more time and make these homemade Sloppy Joes.
RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS:
1 lb. ground beef - I use 7% fat though any will work
1 yellow onion diced
1 green or red bell pepper diced
1 cup ketchup
8 oz. can tomato sauce (NOT PASTE)
2 Tbsp. mustard
1 tsp. apple cider vinegar
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. chili powder
1 Tbsp. brown sugar
SLOW COOKER SIZE:
3-quart or larger
INSTRUCTIONS:
Set a large skillet on the stovetop and set to medium-high heat. When the pan is hot, add the ground beef, onion and bell pepper. Brown and crumble the beef. Drain your meat if your ground beef is overly fatty.
Add the beef, onion and bell pepper to the slow cooker. Add remaining ingredients.
Stir. Place the lid on the slow cooker.
Cook on HIGH for 2 hours or LOW for 3. Keep an eye on the meat mixture and stir if it looks as it's starting to burn around the edges.
Toast buns and pile the Sloppy Joe meat on top. Top with cheese and pickles if desired.

Homemade Crockpot Sloppy Joes
Spring is here! And when Spring comes every year, I find myself falling in line with the cliché approach of Spring cleaning which includes not only cleaning out of closets and organizing of cupboards, but for me personally, pulling myself together after a nice, long, cozy winter. But, before we get ourselves too put together, before all of the Spring cleaning commences, I wanted to share this 5-ingredient, very simple and very not 'put together' recipe. So not put together that some may even call it sloppy. Grab your crockpots, because we are making homemade sloppy Joes!

Load of Crock's 12 Months of Giving: March 2020 challenge:
As we are all acutely aware, our country, and across the world are trying to navigate and manage all things COVID-19. Given this, my challenge for this month is and has been quite simple. Each day I have been finding ways to incorporate kindness in what I do, and find one thing to focus on, for which I am grateful. The days have felt long, and we all are feeling some level of stress and anxiety during this time. I am finding by challenging myself to these two items every day, I am creating something new by doing something kind for someone else (checking in with a friend to ensure they are doing ok, asking neighbors if they need anything, reading books to your friends' kids over FaceTime, etc.) which helps make each day feel a little different and less isolating. And, by finding one new thing each day for which I am grateful, keeps my head (most days) leaning towards the silver lining, and generally helps me in keeping a positive attitude.
These are some tough times, with so many unknowns, so please, if you feel up for it, join me in this simple challenge for the month of March, and see what one act of kindness and one grateful thought each day, can do to help during this times.
Remember, we are all here for one another, friends! Try to stay positive and find the good, even on the tough days. My thoughts are with all of you and your families!
