Ingredients:
1 lb green beans, blanched & sliced into 2-inch long strips
1 tbsp vegetable oil
¾ cup water or chicken stock
3 slices bacon, roughly 3 oz, chopped
1 cup red onion, chopped
1 tbsp all-purpose flour
¼ cup apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp brown sugar
Salt and ground black pepper to taste

0:10 Cook bacon in a medium skillet with oil over medium-high heat, and stir occasionally until well-browned.
0:22 Add onion and saute until translucent.
0:29 Add the flour and roast briefly.
0:35 Deglaze with vinegar and reduce briefly.
0:43 Add water or chicken broth and sugar. Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer, and stir in the green beans.
1:04 Continue cooking at a low simmer until beans are hot.
1:07 Season with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust accordingly and serve!

Sweet & Sour Green Beans
2 cans or 2 pints green beans, drained
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1/4 cup ketchup
1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 tsp minced garlic
1 Tbsp minced onion
2 tsp Apple cider vinegar
3-4 strips bacon, cooked and cut in small pieces
Open cans of beans and drain off juice. Place beans in an oven proof bowl. Add cooked, cut up bacon, onions & garlic. In a separate bowl mix brown sugar, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce & apple cider vinegar together. Add it to the beans and mix it all together. Bake, covered with foil, at 350 for 25-30 minutes.

How to make delicious sweet and spicy green beans
Chef Jeff is in the East Idaho News kitchen showing you how to make a spicy and sweet twist on classic French green beans with buffalo sauce and honey.
Ingredients
1 lb. green beans, ends trimmed
3 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. minced garlic
¼ tsp. kosher salt
¼ tsp. black pepper
3 tbsp. hot sauce (I like to use Frank’s)
3 tbsp. honey
¼ c. sliced almonds for garnish (optional)
Directions
Fill a pot with water and bring to a boil. Add a couple of tablespoons of kosher salt. Stir to dissolve the salt and add the green beans. Cook for 3 or 4 minutes and then drain and cool under running cold water. Set aside.
Melt the butter in a large skillet over med-high heat. Add the garlic and cook only about 30 seconds, stirring. Add the hot sauce, honey, salt and pepper and bring to a simmer. Add the green beans. Stir and cook 3-5 minutes to warm and slightly brown the beans. Move to a serving dish and top with the almonds. Serve.
