How To make Spiced Cocoa Doughnuts
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup Hershey's cocoa
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground mace
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons butter -- softened
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup powdered sugar
dash ground cinnamon
In medium bowl, stir together flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, mace and salt. In large bowl, beat sugar and butter until creamy. Add egg; beat well. Add flour mixture alternately with milk, mixing until well blended; shape into ball.
On lightly floured surface, roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness. With floured 2 1/2-inch doughnut cutter, cut into rings. Reroll dough as necessary. Fry two or three doughnuts at a time in deep hot fat (375) about 30 seconds, turning once with slotted spoon. Drain on paper towels. Repeat.
Stir together powdered sugar and dash cinnamon; sprinkle over tops of warm doughnuts.

- Frosted Flakes - 13g
- Reeses Puffs - 20g
- 2 cups (248g) powdered sugar
- small pinch salt
Peanut Butter puff variation:
- 1/4 cup (39g) milk
- 4.5 tablespoons (24g) cocoa powder
- 2 cups (248g) powdered sugar
- 1 cup (123g) cocoa puffs for topping
Peanut Butter Glaze Drizzle for the finisher:
- 3 tablespoons (64g) peanut butter
- 1/2 cup (47g) powdered sugar
- water to thin

Chocolate Spiced Donuts
Chocolate Spiced Donuts – Christmas treat
Preheat the oven to 177 degrees centigrade or gas mark 4
Ingredients
110 grams plain flour
60 grams cocoa
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp mixed spice
¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
½ tsp baking soda
260 ml Greek yoghurt
100 ml vegetable oil
120 grams castor sugar
1 large egg
½ teaspoon vanilla essence
For the glaze
60 grams icing sugar
Juice of 1 lemon (add tiny bit of water if too dry – depending on your preference)
Method
Sieve all dry ingredients except for the sugar in one bowl, give it a good stir so everything gets equally incorporated.
In the other bowl mix the sugar, yoghurt, vegetable oil and vanilla essence. Pour the wet ingredients in with the dry and mix till everything is incorporated.
To enable you to pour the mixture into the donut tin without making too much of a mess, place the mixture into a piping bag and fill the donut rings.
Depending on the size of the donut tin you have, bake for 10 – 15 minutes.
Once donuts are cooled you can glaze the donuts.
