Quick and Easy Pork Chops and Brown Onion Gravy Ingredients:
2 - 4 Two inch pork chops
2 tablespoons Garlic Powder divided
2 tablespoons Onions Powder divided
2 tablespoons Paprika divided
Salt and Black Pepper
1 cup flour
1/4 cup vegetable oil
Onion Gravy Ingredients:
1 large onion sliced into rings
2 cloves of garlic smashed
1/2 rib of celery
1/4 piece green bell pepper
1/4 cup All Purpose Flour
3 cups Beef Broth
THIS IS HOW WE DO IT:
** Season your flour with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and paprika
Mix well
**Season both side of each Pork Chop with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and paprika. Pat all the spices into the pork chops
**Turn heavy bottom skillet to medium high heat and add vegetable oil
Once the oil is hot place 2 chops at a time in the skillet. Cook about 6 minutes each side until about 3/4 of the way done
**Remove pork chops to a plate to rest
**Remove about half of the oil from the skillet leaving any bits from the pork chops in the skillet scrapping them up.
**Add 1/4 cup of the flour used to coat the pork shop into the skillet and cook for about 2-4 minutes. Turn the skillet down to low and continue to cook the flour until dark brown.
**Turn the skillet back up the medium high and add in the Beef Broth stirring constantly.
**Add in the celery, green pepper and onion and continue to simmer the gravy for about 5 minutes
** Remove the celery, green pepper and garlic and discard.
**Add in the onions and cook for 1 minute then add the pork chops in and let it simmer
about 10 minutes until the gravy is thick to your desired consistency.
**Serve with vegetable of your choice over rice, potatoes, noodles or biscuits.
ENJOY!

The BEST Smothered Pork Chops and Smothered Potatoes! || New Orleans and Soul Food Recipe
Welcome back to TFC! Hope you enjoy this smothered pork chop and smothered potato recipe. Serve with your favorite veggie and a side of rice and gravy!
Smothered Pork Chop Recipe
• 9x13 baking dish
• Six pork chops (bone in or boneless)
• Three packets McCormick brown gravy
• One large yellow onion, sliced thinly
• Seasonings to taste (season salt, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper)
• Three tablespoons canola oil
• Aluminum foil
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Rinse off pork chops, pat dry. Season with your favorite seasonings (see above for suggestions) on ONE side of the chops. Heat pan to medium – high, and add canola oil. When hot, add in pork chops, seasoning side face down. Season other side. Pan fry until a golden brown color forms. Flip over and repeat. Mix three packets of brown gravy with 2.5 cups of cold water in a bowl, set aside. Add half of your sliced onions to bottom of baking dish. Add some gravy to bottom of pan (about 1/3 of the bowl). Add pork chops after they have been pan fried and are browned on each side. Add remaining onions on top along with remaining gravy. Cover tightly with foil, and bake until fork tender, anywhere from one hour to 2.5 hours (depending on thickness), checking chops every 30 - 45 minutes. Serve with rice, smothered potatoes, and your favorite veggie.
Smothered Potatoes Recipe
• One package of frozen cubed hash browns
• One large yellow onion, diced
• Seasonings to taste (season salt, onion powder, black pepper)
• Six tablespoons canola oil
Heat pan to medium – high, and in three tablespoons of canola oil. When hot, add hash browns and onions. Season with favorite seasonings (see above). Cover with lid, and let fry until golden brown on bottom (approximately 5-7 minutes). Turn down heat to low, flip potatoes, and use potato masher to mash up potatoes. A fork works as well. Mash until no longer cubed potatoes. Turn heat back to medium, and add in remaining canola oil. Add more seasoning if needed. Pan fry for another 4-7 minutes, or until golden brown color is throughout potatoes. Turn off heat, and serve with smothered pork chops, or in place of your typical hash browns for breakfast!

Smothered Pork Chops by Chef Bae
Recipe:
- 4-6 Pork chops
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1 cup of water
- 1 cup of chicken broth
- 1 Yellow Onion (sliced)
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1/2 pack of Sazon
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
Clean pork chops thoroughly, pat dry with a paper towel and set aside.
Combine the seasonings in a small bowl. Coat each pork chop with the seasoning mixture then evenly coat the chops in flour. Save leftover seasoning for later use in onion gravy.
Heat vegetable oil in skillet over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, add pork chops and brown on each side for about three-five minutes.
Once your meat is browned, remove it from the skillet and allow to cool on a plate covered with paper towels. Leave the drippings in the pan for our next step which is the onion gravy.
Add roughly 2 tablespoons of flour to the pan stir until golden brown. (The flour will clump into little bits, that's o.k. Pay close attention so the gravy “clumps” do not burn.)
Slowly add two cups water to the gravy “clumps” and stir. Stir continuously, until the sauce is smooth. There should be no clumps or lumps in the gravy.
Taste occasionally to see if you need to add more salt/ seasonings.
While gravy is simmering, return the pork chops to skillet. Reduce heat to low, cover and cook for about 45 mins. Serve over rice with veggies.
