This is my mom's go to pie crust recipe. I have eaten this for years when my mom made is, and after I moved out, I have eaten it for many more. Yes, pre-made store bought crusts will do, but come on, when home made is this easy, who would?
Mom’s No Fail Pie Crust
Sift together: 3 c all purpose flour 1 t salt ½ t baking powder
Cut in with a pastry cutter: 1 ¼ c lard or 1 ½ c vegetable shortening
Using fork, mix in: 1 beaten egg 1 t white vinegar 5 T water
Roll out dough on a well floured surface.
This will make 2-3 rounds depending on the size of the pie pan you are using.
Excess dough can be rolled out and sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon.
