1/2 c Butter 1 t lemon juice 1 ts Lemon juice 4 oz Cream cheese 1 c Unbleached flour 1 tb Pure maple syrup Jam or preserves Melt butter. Blend in cream cheese, maple syrup and lemon juice. Add flour and combine until dough is smooth. Chill overnight. Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut into 3-inch rounds. Make an indentation in the center of each. Spoon jam into each indentation. Bake on oiled cookie sheets at 450 degrees for 15 minutes. Crust should be golden brown and possibly flaking. If not, return for additional few minutes.

Ingredients: 2 cups (300g) flour ¼ cup (50g) sugar ⅔ cup (150g) butter pinch of salt 1 tsp vanilla essence 2 eggs 500g quince jam or any jam you prefer 1 tbsp milk 1 tbsp sugar
Directions: 1. In a bowl put the flour, sugar, vanilla essence, salt, egg, and mix. 2. Work the dough together with your hands into a ball and cover with cling wrap. Refrigerate for 1 hour! 3. Cut 1/3 of dough and set aside. Roll the dough around the rolling pin and unroll onto a pie dish making sure the dough reaches all edges. 4. Put the quince jam. 5. Repeat the same rolling process. Use a knife to cut the dough into strips of about ½-inch width. 6. Trim the extra dough from the edges. Make sure edges are sealed together. 7. Brush the pie with milk and sprinkle it with sugar. 8. Bake the pie for 35-40 minutes at 170C or until the crust is golden brown. 9. Enjoy it!

Making Hungarian/Jam Tart - Quick and easy but still delicious tea time treat!
Making Hungarian tart, or jam tart as we called it, as a treat for the kids was a regular exercise in the Luckan household. This was one of my go to recipes for when we needed the perfect accompaniment for tea time! Also does great during Diwali time!
Ingredients 4 cups cake flour, sieved 4 tsp baking powder 4 tbs oil 2 large eggs 250g margarine 1 tsp vanilla essence 4 tbs castor sugar jam of your choice for spreading desiccated Coconut to dust on jam (optional) Icing sugar to dust at the end
Serve with a nice cup of tea or coffee at breakfast time or at tea time!
