How To make Golden Apple Custard Pie
1 tb Butter; softened
1 9" unbaked pie shell
2 lg Golden Delicious apples;
-cored/sliced (don't peel) 3 Eggs
1 1/2 c Milk
1/2 c Light cream (half-and-half)
1 ts Vanilla extract
1/2 c Sugar; divided
1/2 ts Nutmeg, ground
1/2 ts Salt
1. Brush butter over bottom of pie shell. Arrange
apple slices in pie shell in an overlapping pinwheel design. 2. In a large bowl, beat together eggs, milk, light
cream, vanilla and all but 2 teaspoons of the sugar. 3. Carefully spoon egg mixture over apples. Mix
reserved 2 teaspoons sugar with nutmeg and salt and sprinkle on top. 4. Place pie in a roasting pan and place in the oven.
Pour enough boiling water into the roasting pan to reach halfway up the sides of the pie pan. 5. Bake in a preheated 400-degree oven for 40 minutes.
Reduce temperature to 300 degrees and bake until custard is set, about 20 minutes longer. 6. Cool pie completely before cutting. Refrigerate the

For a deep 9 Custard Tart
Preheat Oven to 165C fan assisted (185C no fan)
For the Sweet Pastry case:
250g plain flour
60g caster sugar
160g cold butter, cubed
Pinch of salt
2 large egg yolks
For the Custard filling:
Reduce oven temp to 130C fan assisted (150C no fan)
750g double cream
115g caster sugar
13 large egg yolks
Pinch of salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
Whole nutmeg for grating

Hello, I'm simonacallas and today I will make a delicate and refreshing Flourless Apple Custard Meringue Pie - an easy and delicious dessert, an apple pie with no crust, which is gluten free, very simple to make and very tasty. It can be perfect for the lingering summer heat but it can also be served anytime. More details about this recipe can be found here:
Ingredients [Baking pan 15x25 cm (6x10’’) 5 cm (2’’)]
• 3-4 big apples (about 500 g)
• 2 tablespoons lemon juice
• 75 g butter (about 5 tablespoons)
• 3 eggs, separated
• 10 tablespoons granulated sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 tablespoon cornstarch
• 350 ml milk (1 1/2 cups)
