How To make Frosted Diamonds
1/4 c Butter or regular margarine
1/4 c Shortening
1/2 c Sugar
2 Eggs
1 ts Vanilla
3 c Flour; sifted
1/8 ts Salt
1 ts Caraway seeds
White mountain frosting (recipe follows) 1/4 c Coarse pink decorating sugar
Beat butter and shortening until light; gradually add sugar, and beat until mixture is fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla, blending thoroughly. Sift together flour and salt; add to creamed mixture. Stir in caraway seeds. Roll dough thin, not more than 1/8", and cut in 2" diamonds with sharp knife or cookie cutter. Place 1/2" apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake in 325 oven 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from baking sheets and cool on racks. Spread cookies with White Mountain Frosting; sprinkle with pink sugar. WHITE MOUNTAIN FROSTING: Combine 1 cup sugar, 1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar and 1/4 cup water in small saucepan. Place over heat and stir until sugar dissolves. Continue cooking to soft ball stage (236) on candy thermomter. Meanwhile, add 1/2 teaspoon salt to 1 egg white; beat until stiff. Pour hot syrup in a fine stream into egg white, beating constantly until frosting is of spreading consistency. SOURCE: Farm Journal's Great Home Cooking In America (pg. 104-105) -----

WARNING! Long video. I show off my handcrafted, super huge, and kind of heavy soap cutter. I have at least 9 soaping containers to wash after making this batch of soap but it well worth it. Didn't they come out SO CUTE! The scent is described as a wonderful blend of herbaceous pine and spruce, combined with notes of rosemary, carnation, cedar, and hints of spice. It really is a nice, fresh earthy scent.
Soap Forsting Recipe:
Olive Oil 60%
Coconut Oil 26%

Buttercream - Vanilla Ermine Flour Icing - HOW TO MAKE COOKED FLOUR FROSTING
This is a recipe for Ermine Buttercream (also known as Flour Buttercream, Ermine Icing, Pudding Frosting or Flour Icing)
***Updated Cooked Flour Ermine Buttercream Frosting -
It is a buttercream that is much less sweet than an American Buttercream which is basically Icing/Confectioners Sugar, Butter and milk whipped together.
I find American Buttercream way too sweet so I was excited when I found this recipe. It was used a lot for Red Velvet cakes before Cream Cheese Frosting became the craze. It has a great consistency for piping or icing cakes but is of course loaded with butter which gives it it's light and fluffy consistency!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
INGREDIENTS FOR ERMINE FROSTING:
30g (¼ cup) All Purpose Flour
150g (3/4 cup) White Sugar
250g (1 cup) Milk
¼ teaspoon Salt
225g (1 cup) unsalted, softened Butter
1½ teaspoons Vanilla Extract
