How to make Super Easy Lasagna!
This video is how to make easy, simple, yummy lasagna!
This is one of my FAVORITE recipes to make and my family LOVES it!
Prep Time: 20 min
Cook Time: 1 hr 5 min
1 lb lean ground beef
1 lb lean ground turkey
3 jars of pasta sauce (my go-to is Organic Ragu!)
Whole Wheat lasagna noodles
5-6 cups of low moisture mozzarella cheese
2 cloves of garlic (I use freeze-dried)
7-8 bay leaves
handful of fresh basil
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Start boiling water for pasta noodles.
Brown meat together. (I season with Garlic Pepper)
If you are NOT using lean meat, drain any excess oil now.
Add minced garlic and stir.
Once meat is browned, add your 3 jars of pasta sauce.
Add bay leaves...and stir well!
Cover for about 5 minutes.
Chop and add your basil. Stir well and cover to simmer. (about 10 min)
Add noodles to your boiling water. (I add alittle EVOO just to keep the noodles from sticking). Cook for about 12 min...til they are just al dente!
Drain water and now its time to put your lasagna together!
Add a think layer of sauce to the bottom of your pan so the noodles don't stick to the bottom!
Layer one:
Noodles (3 long noodles)
Sauce (enough to cover the noodles)
Cheese (about 1-1/2 cups)
Layer 3:
Noodles (3 long noodles)
Sauce (enough to cover the noodles)
Cheese (about 1-1/2 cups)
Layer 2:
Noodles (3 long noodles)
Sauce (enough to cover the noodles)
Cheese (about 2-1/2 cups)...this will give a thicker cheese crust on top! YUM!
Cover with foil. (tent it so the cheese doesn't stick to the top!)
Bake in oven for 45 minutes.
Remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes.
If you do NOT want a crispy crust...you can take it out now!
If you DO want a crispy crust, turn on boiler to 450 degrees and brown the top for just a couple of minutes! It goes fast, so make sure you WATCH IT!
Let your lasagna stand for about 15-20 minutes then ENJOY!

Yes, some people use raw noodles in their lasagna. that works for most recipes, but not for all. Especially if you want to layer the lasagna in advance and just heat it before you serve it. Also with some cream based sauces, the sauce will burn before the noodles are cooked. And with this trick you can use the noodles for other uses besides just a layered lasagna, such as rolled up appetizers.
