How To make Crockpot Appetizer Ribs
Ingredients

spareribs, cut up
1
tablespoon
salt
1
tablespoon
pepper
1
tablespoon
garlic salt
8
oz
russian salad dressing
6
oz
pineapple juice
Directions:
Sprinkle ribs with salt and pepper. Place in crockpot; pour water over them. Cover and cook on low 6-7 hours or until tender. Drain. Arrange ribs on broiler pan; sprinkle with garlic salt. Make sauce by combining salad dressing and pineapple juice. Brush ribs with half the sauce. Broil until brown, turn, brush other side and brown.
Makes 8-10 appetizer servings.
Note: If possible ask the butcher to cut each rib in half, crosswise, so they will be a more convenient size to handle the appetizer.

2 teaspoons coarse kosher salt
2 teaspoons fresh cracked black pepper
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 large onion, chopped
1 carrot, peeled and chopped
1 celery stalk, chopped
6 ounces can tomato paste
1 tablespoon minced fresh rosemary
1 tablespoon fresh thyme
5 bay leaves
1 cup red wine
1 1/2 cups beef stock

Slow Cooker Bourbon Hot Dogs {APPETIZER ????????}

This simple recipe only gets better the longer it cooks. the hot dogs soak up the bourbon and barbecue mixture! Forget the little smokies!
PRINTABLE RECIPE AND NUTRITIONAL INFO:
RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS:
30 oz. beef hot dogs (two 15-oz. pkgs) I use Oscar Meyer
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup barbecue sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup bourbon
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/8 tsp. red pepper flakes
SLOW COOKER SIZE: 4-quart or larger
INSTRUCTIONS:
Cut the hotdogs into fourths. Do this by cutting them on an angle.
Place the hot dog pieces in the slow cooker.
Add the ketchup, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, bourbon, Worcestershire sauce and red pepper flakes, stir.
Place the lid on the slow cooker. Cook on LOW for 5 hours. Stirring occasionally.
Note: 5 hours is not too long to cook these. We are NOT just heating these up. The longer they cook, they marinate in the bourbon and sauce and soak up flavor. The hot dogs will not shrivel.
Does the alcohol cook out of these?
All the alcohol may not cook out of these for the slow cooker does not get to a high heat. I would not serve these to babies, children, OR anyone who does not drink alcohol for respect to them.
