cookies:;:
1 c Margarine
1 1/3 c Sugar
1/3 c Milk
1/3 c Dark corn syrup
1 1/3 c Rolled oats
1 1/2 c All-purpose flour
1 ts Baking powder
1 ts Vanilla extract
filling:;:
1 tb All-purpose flour
1/4 c Sugar
2/3 c Milk
2 Egg yolks
1/2 c Margarine

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease cookie sheets well. COOKIES: 1. Melt margarine in large saucepan. Add remaining cookie ingredients
and mix thoroughly. 2. Drop by scant teaspoonfuls onto prepared cookie sheets. Bake for
10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 2 minutes, then remove carefully
from cookie sheets to wire rack. 3. Just before serving, put 2 cookies together, sandwich style, with
filling. FILLING: Combine 1 tablespoon flour and 1 tablespoon sugar in saucepan. Gradually add 2/3 cup milk and 2 egg yolks (or 1 whole egg). Mix well. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils and is thick. Cool. Cream margarine then add 1/4 cup sugar, creaming well. Gradually add egg mixture, beating well after each addition. Cover and store in refrigerator until ready to use. -----

[Macarons] *about 20 sets
1tsp=5ml
1Tbsp=15ml
1cup = 250ml
2 large eggs white (about 68 g)
50 g (1/4 cup) granulated sugar
80 g (3/4 cup+ 1Tbsp) almond flour
80 g (3/4 cup) powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional) * I didn't add it
Food coloring(optional)
[Anglaise Buttercream(Egg yolk buttercream)]
2 egg yolks (40 g)
60 g (1/4 cup + 1Tbsp) granulated sugar
60 g (1/4 cup) milk
1/8 t salt
220 g (1 cup) unsalted butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
Making Macarons (refer to the video for details)
1. Separate the eggs into whites and yolks.
2. Add sugar to the egg white to make a hard meringue.
3. Add almond powder and sugar powder and mix.
4. Add color (optional)
5. Make macaronage for a suitable consistency (refer to the work in the video).
6. After kneading the dough to a certain size, dry the surface.
7. After preheating to 350°F(180°C), lower to 300°F(150°C) and bake for about 12~14 minutes.
Making Egg yolk buttercream
1. Add sugar, salt and milk to egg yolk and mix without lumps.
2. Raise the temperature of the mixture by putting it on low heat. (Refer to the video)
3. Add vanilla and mix, then cool to room temperature.
4. After softening the butter, whip while adding the cooled yolk mixture little by little.
Add all the yolk mixture.
5. Sand the buttercream on the macarons.

Tools I used:
WILTON CLEAR VANILLA -
SWEETEX SHORTENING - (this is a little pricey because it's sold in 50 pound blocks. You can also use Crisco or a different brand of high ratio shortening without a noticeable difference in the taste.)
Recipe Ingredients:
4oz. SALTED BUTTER
1/2C SHORTENING
8oz. CREAM CHEESE
2lbs. POWDERED SUGAR
1 1/4C CRUSHED OREOS
Between 1tsp - 1Tbsp WILTON CLEAR VANILLA
Between 1-3 Tbsp WATER

FAQ: Why use unsalted butter and add salt at the end? Can't you use salted butter?
You can, but you risk an overly salty buttercream in the end. Salt varies by brand but you probably also have a preference for how much you like in your dessert.
If you do do choose to use salted butter, try only half - I've had bakers tell me that they used all salted butter for their buttercreams and it ended up being way too salty
