(25 g) 1 3/4 cups plain flour -- (275 g) 1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda Soak the fruit overnight in the tea, in a large mixing bowl. Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees (180 C; gas mark 4). Stir into the soaked fruit the sugar, the egg and the melted fat. Sieve the flour and the bicarbonate of soda into the mixture and mix well. Spoon into a lightly greased and lined 9"x5" (900g or 2lb) loaf tin and bake in a moderate oven for 1 to 1-1/4 hours, or until firm to the touch. The videos are to promote our upcoming 'People Make Transition Happen' event at Malvern Theatres on 27th May 2010.
We are highlighting the local, sustainable and resilient initiatives that are going on in the area at the current time and some of the events that Transition Malvern hills has held in the recent past.
This episode focuses on 'Local Food' starting with an example of an embodiment of Transition in the way that St Anns Well is run, the approach to the food that is served there and the reduction in waste produced. Malvern Country Markets originates from the W.I. Markets and provide some fine local produce. Food Waste is an important issue and TMH have held events to highlight the issues with a variety of speakers. Colwall Orchard Group is an outstanding community project that is restoring the old orchards and making use of their produce.
