Happy National Pizza Day!! In this episode, Dave shows you how to make a fantastic BLT pizza that everyone will love, because bacon makes everything better. This pizza is both simple to make and oh, so tasty. Enjoy.
Toppings: ½ cup ranch dressing 6-8 slices thick cut bacon 2 cups (8 oz) grated mozzarella cheese 2 medium ripe tomatoes, diced ¾ cup shredded lettuce
Dough: • Whisk together the flour, yeast, salt and sugar. • Add the water and oil and mix until all the flour is combined. • Cover and let rise at room temperature until doubled in size (overnight). Pizza: • Cook the bacon in a skillet until crispy. Drain on paper towels. • Preheat oven to 500°. • Stretch the dough into a 12” disk and place in a baking sheet. • Spread the ranch dressing over top of the dough, leaving a 1” border, then sprinkle the cheese over the dressing, and top with ⅔ of the crumbled bacon. • Bake 10-15 minutes unto crust is golden and the cheese is turning brown in spots. • Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes. • Sprinkle the shredded lettuce on top. Top with diced tomato and the remaining bacon. • Slice and serve warm.
