Shrimp on the Barbie!!
Paul Hogan’s “I’ll slip an extra shrimp on the barbie for you” has been a popular expression that stuck with the world since it was shown in the US in the early 80s. However, it’s met with mixed reactions from Australians, who call shrimps “prawns”. The shift in language is understandable given that the audience was the American market.
But back to “...shrimp on the barbie...”, here are actual shrimps on the barbie, not in the US or Australia, but in Fukuoka, Japan!
