AMERICAN TURKEY GOULASH
????AMERICAN TURKEY GOULASH
????LUNCH • DINNER • 16/07/2020
American goulash usually cooked with beef and elbow pasta, but today I made it with ground turkey and fusilli instead. This hearty stew has 1:1 ratio of meat and tomatoes, and I added some veggies to it ????????. This one pot meal ???? is super easy to make and you can fix it under 30 minutes for the whole family!
INGREDIENTS:
????1 tbsp olive oil
????400gr ground meat (I used turkey)
????3 tbsp tomato paste
????2 cups tomato puree (skin removed)
????3 cups no salt added chicken broth
????1 cup chopped broccoli
????1/4 cup chopped carrot
????1/4 cup chopped bel pepper
????1/2 chopped medium onion
????1/2 tbsp garlic powder
????1 tbsp paprika
????4 pcs star anise
????4 pcs bay leaves
???? 1 tsp oregano
????2.5 cups fusilli pasta / elbow pasta
????3-4 tbsp parmesan cheese
STEPS:
1️⃣ Heat the oil in a medium large sauce pan over medium high heat
2️⃣ Start cooking the meat and break it apart while stirring (3-4minutes)
3️⃣ Add in the veggies including the onion and stir. add the tomato paste and seasoning, cook for 4-5 minutes by stirring it often
4️⃣ Pour in tomato puree and broth. Bring to boil and reduce the heat. Add in the pasta and simmer until the pasta is cooked and the sauce thickened.
5️⃣ Stir in the cheese (see notes). Set aside ????????’s portion
6️⃣ Add salt for adult version
NOTES:
* Feel free to use ground chicken / beef
* Use beef broth if you are cooking it with ground beef
* You can use cheddar cheese as well????
* If you are cooking for ???????? under 1, please note the sodium intake, you can adjust the cheese as you need
* You can add salt and a lil bit of soy sauce for adult version
* Feel free to use other vegetables like zucchini etc
