WE TRIED CANADA'S 4 BEST NANAIMO BARS IN NANAIMO, BRITISH COLUMBIA // Nat and Max
Our trip to Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada starts off with a hop on a 1hr and 30mins BC Ferry journey from Downtown Vancouver to Vancouver Island and docking at Nanaimo, BC. We are starting off this trip by searching for Canada’s Best Nanaimo Bars. The Nanaimo Bar is a famous Canadian bar dessert and is named after the City of Nanaimo also known as “The Harbour City”.
For our first Nanaimo bar, we went to Nanaimo’s historic Old City Quarter district. Buildings in the area date from the late 1800s to early 1900s. This unique downtown city neighborhood is a mix of local shops, cafes and other businesses in a historic & new buildings. Here we found Bocca Cafe which have a good selection of sweets, treats and various flavors of Canada’s best Nanaimo bars. We got to try their Salted Caramel Nanaimo bar, which makes it a combination of sweet & salty.
Next on our Canada’s best Nanaimo bars list was Pirate Chips, it is a pirate themed seafood restaurant that also serves classic comfort dishes. They are known for their legendary deep-fried delights which we came for, their Deep Fried Nanaimo bars. The Nanaimo bar was wrapped in a soft and warm, deep fried goodness topped with a vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.
As the weather’s getting warmer, it was perfect for our next Nanaimo bar trail which is from the Waterfront Confections just by the harbour. Waterfront Confections is a little shop along the boardwalk in Nanaimo not far from the marina. They feature 40 unique flavours of delicious ice cream and a variety of gelato. We indulged their very creamy and flavorful Canada’s best Nanaimo Bar Ice Cream, just the right way to cool off after a long day.
Our tummies are getting full at this point and only have a little room for one more of Canada’s best Nanaimo bars. To wrap up this sweet trip we went to Burnt Honey Dessert Company located at The Country Club Mall. Owned by small business entrepreneurs, their shop serves locally sourced ingredients for their homemade ice cream and macarons. We got to try their Nanaimo Macaron and it was delicious, intriguing and delectable in every way!
Come join us on our 7-day summer road trip to Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada where we’ll explore the island from the south all the way up to the west. Stay tuned for more of our travel vlogs on the coming weeks!!

How it's Made. Soap. INSIDE FACTORIES
00:00 How soap made in factory SERPOL-COSMETICS in Miecisko, Poland.
Liquid soap is one of the most commonly used products in each household. #factories #howitsmade #soap Subscribe to the channel to watch more videos:
Beautiful fragrances, colors, shapes, and textures make body bathing a delightful routine. It hydrates and nourishes our skin, but it also cleans and disinfects. During the epidemic, it has become vital.
Ever wondered how it's made? Today we're going to SERPOL-COSMETICS in Miecisko to see how liquid soap is made.
00:51 So, let's make soap. The process begins with R&D. The formulation and prototype samples are created here. The lab creates a recipe containing water, surfactants (for soap foaming) and active substances (extracts, vitamins, essential oils). After the formulation is produced, it must be tested on a panel of testers and on suitable equipment. Only once they are completed can the product be sold.
01:25 Liquid soap making inside factory.
Tankers supply raw materials to the factory, and the whole unloading, dosing and weighing system is automated. Raw materials are unloaded into designated tanks at the warehouse.
Then they're weighed and dosed into a mixer. Smaller amounts of pigments or extracts are dosed using buckets. To prevent errors, the system is regulated by a scanner.
Water is an essential element in the manufacture.
The mixing department's water circulates constantly, limiting microbial growth. Like other raw materials, its characteristics are constantly examined.
A sample of the product created in the mixer is sent to the Quality Control Department for analysis. Their density, pH, color, and scent are measured. If the test is positive, the product is discharged from the mixer and stored. Pipelines have cleaning pistons that force all soap into the product tank. Soap is not wasted and less water is utilized to clean the system.
03:13 Soap pouring lines.
Serpol-Cosmetics has over a dozen manufacturing lines in two locations. Pouring lines are categorized by packaging type. A printed film from a roll is tensioned, then folded and sealed at its edges. It is then sealed. This creates a sachet that is subsequently filled with liquid. Finally, the product is sealed and put on a belt conveyor. Every year, millions of items exit these lines. Watch how soap is put into bottles now. Packaging is also made on site. Used include PET, HDPE, and rPET granulates. Plasticised material is shaped into a preform and blown. A robot picks up a bottle and puts it on a conveyor.
04:22 Liquid soap production details
As seen, three different soaps may be poured at once. The bottle is then capped with a pump and a label is placed.
05:12 Quality product check inside Soap Factories.
Before the soap exits the line, it is inspected. At random intervals, a Quality Control person checks the product against a specification.
Then the soap cartons are palletized and sent to the final product warehouse.
Soaps made in Miecisko may be bought at major European stores.
Factories are the tour of manufacturing facilities. We're here to see what it's like to work in this field. This project was influenced by the famous television show How It's Made? The Discovery television channel made him famous. We travel to the factory every week with our viewers to see how the particular manufacturing process is doing. We get a new documentary film every week, which explains how things are made. You'll find these and many more items among the many types of machinery you'll find on the planet. Most likely, you're also curious in the processes involved in food production. Some of the foods we showcased on our YouTube channel were frankfurters, Pepsi, kebabs and salty sticks as well as a variety of sauces and condiments. How exhilarating it is to be in the midst of making something new. There is so much fascinating knowledge to be found in the fields of science and technology. Every week, we take you on a tour of the wonders of the manufacturing industry. We're not in for any surprises at the plant.
