Ingredients
Cake
Plain flour- 1 and 1/4 cups (150g)
Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
Baking powder- 1 teaspoon
Cinnamon powder - 1 teaspoon
Cardamom powder- 1 teaspoon
Nutmeg powder - 1/4 teaspoon
Ground Clove - 1/4 teaspoon
Ginger powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Eggs - 3
Brown sugar- 1/4 cup (50g)
White sugar - 1/2 cup (100g)
Melted unsalted butter- 1/2 cup (113g)
Vanilla - 1 teaspoon
Buttermilk - 1/2 cup (120g)
Penuche frosting
Brown sugar- 1 cup (200g)
Butter - 1/2 cup (114g)
Vanilla - 1 teaspoon
Milk - 1/4 cup (60ml)
Icing sugar - 2 cups
You can adjust the amount of spices in the cake and the icing sugar in the frosting according to your desire

For the first time ever, I'm sharing my grandmother's spice cake recipe from scratch. This recipe is how I got my start and eventually opened The Crumb Cake Kitchen. It's my families favourite dessert and I know you'll love it just as much as we do. Each mouth watering piece has a tender butter crumb and those comforting flavours of cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. The best part is you only need the most common ingredients, that you'll find in every pantry and it's so simple, it will blow your mind. This recipe can easily be doubled and I've used it for several wedding cakes. Simply omit the crumb topping and cover with vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream or cream cheese frosting. From grandma's kitchen to yours, with love.
Grandma's Crumb Spice Cake
2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup room temperature butter cut into small chunks
Combine the above ingredients in mixer bowl. Mix on medium/low speed until it resembles a pea sized crumb. This will take a few minutes. Set aside one cup for use later.
1 cup milk
1 tsp. vinegar
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon (or more if you like)
Pinch of nutmeg
1 egg
Add vinegar to milk and stir. Let sit for a few minutes. This will create sour milk. Add cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, eggs and milk to the mixer bowl. Stir until well combined and place in an 8 x 8 greased baking dish. You can line it with parchment paper if your prefer to remove later or skip this step. Pour the batter into the pan and smooth. Top with the 1 cup of crumble that you set aside earlier. Place is 335 degree oven for approximately 45 minutes or until a tooth pick comes out clean. Begin checking for done at 40 minutes. 3 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
5 eggs
1 1/4 cup milk or buttermilk
1 1/4 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp each nutmeg, allspice, ginger, cloves
1 tablespoon cocoa

You've never made American buttercream like this before! Not many people know this GRIT FREE method!
RECIPE:
In this video I'll be showing you a different method to making American buttercream, that leaves you with a grit free, super silky smooth American buttercream! Honestly, this buttercream is SO GOOD it almost tastes like a Swiss meringue buttercream, but so much easier to make! I believe @CupcakeSavvysKitchen was the first channel to demonstrate this method, so credit to them for introducing it to us :)

INGREDIENTS:
- 500g (2 cups) unsalted butter*
- 125ml (1/2 cup) milk
- 8.5g (2 tsp) vanilla extract/essence
- 1.5g (1/4 tsp salt)
- 330g (2 + 1/2 cup) icing/powdered sugar
- 10g (1 tbsp) meringue powder - OPTIONAL for added stability
*You can use salted butter, but omit the salt if you do.

Ginger Spice Bundt Cake with Caramel Sauce Recipe - Le Gourmet TV Recipes

Ingredients
1 cup (250 mL) buttermilk
2 eggs
1 egg white
1½ tsp (7 mL) vanilla
2¾ cups (675 mL / 340g) sifted cake-and-pastry flour
1⅔ cups (400 mL / 365g) granulated sugar
2½ tsp (10 mL) baking powder
2½ tsp (10 mL) ground ginger
1¼ tsp (6 mL) cinnamon
½ tsp (2 mL) baking soda
¼ tsp (1 mL) ground cloves
¼ tsp (1 mL) ground nutmeg
¼ tsp (1 mL) salt
¾ cup (175 mL / 180g) softened butter
½ cup (125 mL / 100g) finely diced candied ginger
Caramel Sauce:
⅔ cup (150 mL / 150g) packed brown sugar
¼ cup (60 mL / 60g) butter
¼ cup (60 mL) 35% cream
1 pinch salt
Method:
Pre-heat oven to 350°F (180°C)
In a bowl, whisk together 3/4 of the buttermilk, eggs, egg white and vanilla.In another bowl mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, ground ginger, cinnamon, baking soda, cloves, nutmeg and salt. Place into a stand mixer and beat in butter and remaining buttermilk; then beat at medium-high speed for 2 minutes. Slowly beat in egg mixture, a little at a time, beating between each addition. Fold in crystallized ginger. Pour into a greased 10 (3 L) Bundt pan; run a knife through the batter to remove any air bubbles. Bake about 40 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean. Let cool in pan on a rack for 10 minutes. Invert onto rack and let cool completely.
Caramel Sauce: In a saucepan, bring sugar, butter and cream to boil stirring constantly. Boil until sugar is dissolved, about 2 minutes.
Pour over cake just before you serve.
