Italian Sloppy Joe Recipe
2 T Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper (To Taste)
1/2 Green Bell Pepper
1-2 Celery Stalks
1 Small Yellow Onion
1/2 Red Bell Pepper
(or all the veg if you like it chunky that way)
1 Lb Jennie-O Italian Ground Turkey
1/2 lb Lean Ground Beef
2 Tablespoons Tomato Paste
1 Tablespoon Red Wine Vinegar
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
2 Tablespoons Beef Bouillon
1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Jar Marinara Sauce
dice all your veg, brown and drain your meat, sauté the veg, add the seasonings and sauces and meat and simmer for 15 minutes. it should look thick like a sloppy joe maybe chucnkier depending on how chunky you like your veggies cut.. if you only want to taste them and not see them cut them smaller and sauté them longer. hope you enjoy this recipe.
This will taste closer to a meat sauce you make for a pasta than the traditional chili/ tomato like sloppy joe you may be used to, keep this in mind.
