1 1/2 lb Pork riblets or pork ribs,
-country style,cut to pieces 5 c Water
4 md Tomatoes, sliced
1 md Onion, sliced
1 1/2 ts Salt
1 md Icicle radish, cut into

1. In a large pot, bring water and pork to a boil. Add tomatoes, oni salt
and tamarind. Simmer 1 hour or until pork is tender. 2. Optional: Remove tamarind and mash with some broth. Strain juice into
pot. 3. Taste for seasoning. Bring to a boil. Add green beans and radish 10
minutes. 4. Add spinach, cover and remove from heat. Let stand 5 minute to fi
cooking spinach. Variations: Beef (stewing, brisket, shank or plate) may be used in pl of pork. Adjust cooking time for each.

Recipe - Sinigang na Baboy – Pork in Sour broth
INGREDIENTS:
●Sinigang na Baboy - Pork in Sour broth
●500 grams pork, sliced into 3 cm cubes, preferably with some fat.
●1 cup green tamarind broth
●1/2 cup chopped onions
●1 tablespoon chopped garlic
●1 cup chopped tomatoes
●100 grams sliced string beans
●100 grams sliced daikon radish
●100 grams sliced eggplant
●2 pieces long green peppers
●100 grams okra
●100 grams chopped and peeled taro root
●2 tablespoon fish sauce
●1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
●4 cups water
Sinigang na Baboy with Gabi | Pork Soup with Taro in Sour Broth | Home Cooking
1 kg. pork meat sliced into cubes
2 to 3 cups kangkong leaves
5 pieces long green chili pepper siling pansigang
3 pieces tomato quartered
1 cup sliced daikon radish labanos
10 to 12 pieces snake beans cut in 2 inch length pieces
1 piece onion quartered
5 cloves of garlic minced
10 pieces okra
4 pieces taro peeled and cut in half (gabi)
5-6 cups water
2 packs Knorr Sinigang sa Sampaloc Mix Original (20 gram pack)
3 tablespoons fish sauce patis
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
1. Boil the pork meat and set aside
2. In a pot put in oil, garlic and onion then saute the pork meat
3. Add salt, pepper and tomato then mix
4. Pour 5-6 cups of water into the cooking pot. Let boil for 25-30 minutes
5. Check if meat is tender then add Taro (gabi) and Radish (labanos)
6. Cover and continue to boil for 15 minutes.
7. Add snake beans and Okra. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes.
8. Add the kangkong and Sampaloc mix. Cover the cooking pot and turn off the heat. Let it stay covered for 5 minutes.
Transfer to a serving bowl. Serve with a small bowl with patis and spicy chili.

- 1 medium yellow onion diced
- salt to taste
- 1 lbs pork belly + 1 lbs pork shoulder (2 lbs pork total)
- 3 ripe roma tomatoes, diced
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce (patis) + additional as condiment
- 4 cups water
- 4 tablespoons tamarind paste (souring agent)
- 3 corms taro, peeled and cut into quarters
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 cups sliced daikon radish (labanos) - cut cross-wise
- 2 pieces long green chili pepper (siling mahaba)
- 15 pieces okra
- 12 pieces snake beans, cut in 2 inch long pieces
- 3 cups kangkong leaves (also called chinese spinach or water spinach. Can substitute with baby bok choy)
