✅Instructions
02:07 - How to make gravy for Swedish meatballs
1️⃣ Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Lightly grease a baking sheet.
2️⃣ 00:31 - In a medium-size mixing bowl, knead together ground beef, ground pork, bread crumbs, Worcestershire sauce, egg yolks, 1/2 tsp allspice, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/2 tsp pepper. Form into 1-inch meatballs and place on baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes.
3️⃣ 03:44 - Meanwhile, you'll want to make the egg noodles, or white rice to go with the dish, whichever you prefer to serve the meatballs and gravy over.
4️⃣ 02:07 - Make the gravy by melting butter in a large saucepan. Once butter is melted, stir in flour, nutmeg, and allspice until it forms a paste. Pour in beef broth and 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce and heat over medium-high heat until thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir in sour cream.
5️⃣ 04:01 - Add cooked meatballs to sauce and serve hot over egg noodles (or mashed potatoes or rice).

How To Make Swedish Meatballs with Emma Bengtsson
Chef Emma Bengtsson from Aquavit in NYC shares her Swedish meatballs recipe that puts IKEA’s to shame. Emma’s meatballs, made from pork and beef, are rolled small and pan fried, and paired with pureed potatoes, pickled cucumbers, lingonberries, and a sauce made with cream and veal stock. This flavor-packed recipe is sure to keep you warm through the cold winter months.

Forget IKEA, try these Swedish chicken meatballs in a mustard cream sauce
Get full recipe here
Most Swedish meat balls are made with beef or pork, as chicken seems to be a more popular protein, I thought I'd make a chicken version. If you ever enjoyed the IKEA meatballs when shopping for furniture, you will never buy them again after trying this recipe. Best part, you only need one pan, so less dishes to clean. These balls are enhanced with all spice and coated in a mustard and Worcestershire sauce which marries well together. Use a good chicken mince, I always make it my self using chicken thighs. This ensures a better chicken flavour and less dryness.
