Swedish Meatballs, SIMPOL!
Who doesn’t love meatballs? I really love it kasi isa ito sa go-to food ko kapag wala na akong maisip na ulam sa bahay. But this recipe is level-up dahil I tried to re-create an iconic Swedish meatballs of a popular furniture chain! ????
Try this Simpol hack of the famous Swedish meatballs and prepare in your own kitchen!
Ingredients:
Set A
2 pieces potatoes
water
1 tablespooon salt
1 clove garlic
2 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons cream
Set B
1 cup ground beef
1 cup ground pork
1 teaspoon salt
3 pinches nutmeg
1 pinch all spice powder
1 whole onion
1 clove garlic
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 piece egg
2 tablespoons cream
Black pepper, to taste
Set C
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon flour
1 cup beef stock
2 tablespoons cream
salt and pepper, to taste
Set D
1/2 bunch broccoli
1 piece carrots
1 teaspoon butter
Making IKEA Swedish Meatballs at Home | But Better
We've gone after the fast-food places, snacks, and movie theaters. Today, we're going after the furniture store....yes, the furniture store. Why does IKEA make meatballs? Have no idea, but we're making the coveted Swedish meatballs, a sentence I can't believe actually came from my mouth. All that to say, we have this in the bag.

The Best Swedish Meatballs and Gravy are made with a combination of ground pork and beef and spiced to perfection for a flavorful meatball and with a rich and flavorful gravy to go with it!

✅Ingredients
MEATBALLS:
• 1 pound ground beef (85-90%)
• 1 pound ground pork or country style ground pork sausage
• 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
• 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
• 2 egg yolks
• 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
• 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
GRAVY:
• 1/4 cup butter
• 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
• 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
• 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
• 4 cups beef broth
• 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
• 2/3 cup sour cream
• salt and pepper, to taste
• chopped fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
• 1 lb. egg noodles
✅Instructions
02:07 - How to make gravy for Swedish meatballs
1️⃣ Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Lightly grease a baking sheet.
2️⃣ 00:31 - In a medium-size mixing bowl, knead together ground beef, ground pork, bread crumbs, Worcestershire sauce, egg yolks, 1/2 tsp allspice, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/2 tsp pepper. Form into 1-inch meatballs and place on baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes.
3️⃣ 03:44 - Meanwhile, you'll want to make the egg noodles, or white rice to go with the dish, whichever you prefer to serve the meatballs and gravy over.
4️⃣ 02:07 - Make the gravy by melting butter in a large saucepan. Once butter is melted, stir in flour, nutmeg, and allspice until it forms a paste. Pour in beef broth and 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce and heat over medium-high heat until thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir in sour cream.
5️⃣ 04:01 - Add cooked meatballs to sauce and serve hot over egg noodles (or mashed potatoes or rice).

Swedish Meatballs with Mushroom Gravy
This recipe is loosely based on the pork meatballs with mushroom gravy recipe from my book The Food Lab (which you can get here:
They are far larger than true Swedish meatballs, but the basic idea is the same. Also, I added a mushroom gravy, because I had some mushrooms and I like mushroom gravy.

How to make SWEDISH MEATBALLS. Homemade IKEA Meatballs Recipe by Always Yummy!
Well-known Swedish meatballs in white sauce are served with boiled potatoes, pickles and lingonberry jam. And don’t be confused by lingonberry jam for meat, taste once and see it is very delicious. Just 25 minutes for cooking and here you are serving the dish to a table.

✅ Ingredients:
For meatballs:
• ground beef – 32 oz | 900 g
• bread crumbs – 2,5 oz | 70 g
• chopped parsley – 2 tbsp
• 1 eggs
• ground allspice – ½ tsp
• ground nutmeg – ½ tsp
• red or bulb onion – 2 oz | 50 g
• garlic powder – 1 tsp
• ground black pepper – ½ tsp
• salt – 1 tsp
• vegetable oil – 2 tbsp
For sauce:
• butter – 1 oz / 30 g
• wheat flour – 5 tbsp
• beef broth – 3 cups | 700 ml
• 23-30% cream – ½ cup | 100 ml
• dijon mustard – 2 tsp
• salt – to taste
• black pepper – to taste
✔︎ You will need:
• pan
• bowl
• meat grinder
• carving board
???? Preparation:
1. Add the bread crumbs, chopped parsley and onion, ground allspice and black pepper, nutmeg, garlic powder, salt and an egg into the minced meat. Mix well.
2. Roll the minced meat into balls of a walnut size.
3. Heat 2 tbsp of vegetable oil in the pan and fry meatballs from each side over medium heat until readiness for about 15 minutes.
4. Lay out the meatballs into the bowl.
5. Heat the pan, add the flour and fry over low heat until golden brown.
6. Pour in gradually the broth stirring constantly and add then the cream, mustard, salt and pepper to taste. Boil over low heat until light thickness of the sauce.
7. Add the meatballs into the pan and stew them in the sauce for 3 minutes over low heat, sprinkle with the chopped parsley.
8. Serve Swedish meatballs with boiled potato, pickles and lingonberry or vegetables.
