Sangria Punch for Tailgating | Emeril Lagasse
Tailgating calls for an easy-to-make big batch beverage and Emeril’s Sangria Punch comes to the rescue. Made with rose wine, a little sugar for sweetness, lemon juice for acidity, and blood oranges, peaches, strawberries, and raspberries to kick up the flavor. All that’s left on the must-have list is some soda water for some bubbles. This tasty punch is guaranteed to add a festive vibe to your next outing.
SANGRIA PUNCH FOR TAILGATING
SERVES 8
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 large lemon
1 large orange
1 small apple, cored and thinly sliced
1 (750 ml.) bottle dry red wine, such as rioja
1/2 cup orange flavored liqueur such as Grand Marnier
Ice cubes, for serving, if desired
Combine sugar and ¼ cup water in a small saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Thinly slice 1/2 of the lemon and 1/2 of the orange and add to a large pitcher. Juice the other halves of the lemon and orange and add juice and rinds to the pitcher along with the apple, wine, Grand Marnier, and cooled syrup; stir until well mixed. Refrigerate until thoroughly chilled, about 2 hours. Serve straight up or on the rocks.

The Best Sangria You've Never Had... Probably
Have you ever purchased a bottle of wine that was maybe somewhat inexpensive and thought to yourself, if I don't like it I can just use it for cooking? Well, the good news is there is a great easy way to still be able to enjoy drinking it. Sangrias are a great way to use up a bottle of wine that may have been open too long (if that's even a thing) as well as fruit that may have seen slightly better days. This wonderful beverage made up of fruit, fruit juices, wine, and optional liqueurs, is always a hit! Enjoy them by the pool and by the pitcher with friends and family.
