Pumpkin cake recipe
RECIPE:
1 3/4 cups all purpose flour level scope
3 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp alt
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs room temp
1 (15 oz) can pumpkin
1 tsp vanilla extract
CREAM CHEESE FROSTING:
8 oz cream cheese room temp
1 stick of unsalted butter room temp
3 -1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Preheat oven 350 spray 13-9 dish, in medium bowl mix together, flour, pumpkin pie spice, baking soda, baking power and salt whisk together, In a large bow mix both sugars, vegetable oil, eggs, pumpkin and vanilla mix together pour dry ingredients into wet ix well and pour into pan 30-35 minutes r until done, cool and put frosting top.
Frosting mix cream cheese, butter, sugar and vanilla together for about 4 minute or until fluffy, spread on cake, store cake in refrigerator, bring to room temp before serving.

Today is Part 1 of making recipes inspired by my Idol, Kardea Brown from Delicious Miss Brown on Food Network, the first recipe I am making is a Southern Classic Custard Pie but with a twist, Lemon Buttermilk Pie!
Decedent, flavorful creamy custard, and full of Lemon flavor; if you are a lemon lover, y’all going to love and enjoy this Pie! Hope I made you proud Cousin Kardea Brown!!

Ellen’s Homemade Pie Crust recipe:
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1 1/4 cups buttermilk, room temperature
4 extra large or jumbo eggs, plus 1 egg yolk, room temperature
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted and cooled
1 tablespoon lemon zest
1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 teaspoon pure lemon extract
1/4 cup all purpose flour, sifted
1 (9 inch) deep dish pie shell, thawed (or refrigerated pie crust)
Whipped cream, for serving (optional)
Lemon wedge, for garnish (optional)
Preheat Oven to 350 Degrees
In a large bowl, add the sugar, buttermilk, eggs, egg yolk, melted butter, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, vanilla extract and lemon extract and whisk together until well blended. Then add and sprinkle in the flour and whisk until well incorporated. Place the pie shell on a baking sheet, then pour the filling over the crust. Bake until the top is golden brown and set around the edges with a slight jiggle in the center, about 1 hour (If the crust begins to get too brown, but the filling isn’t ready, cover the edges loosely with foil. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely at room temperature. Cut into desired slices, serve with whipped cream and garnish with lemon wedge (if desired) and enjoy!
