Ingredients Used
1 Duncan Hines French Vanilla box cake mix
1 pk 3.4oz French vanilla instant pudding mix
4 large eggs @ room temperature
2/3 cup melted butter @room temperature or simply use same quality as box instructions (1/3 cup)
1 cup buttermilk (room temp)
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/2 tsp pure lemon extract
Mix and Bake per box instructions.

French Apple Cake / Apple cake recipe / winter series - Episode 9/ Magic out of hands
A simple and rustic cake recipe with chunks of fresh apple folded in a buttery batter that gives a tender cake with a hint of apple chunks in every bite.
The original recipe contains rum which I have skipped here , if you want to add in rum , whisk a tablespoon of it while adding vanilla.

Ingredients
Unsalted butter - 100 grams (1/4 cup + 3 tablespoons)
Sugar (measured and powdered) - 100 grams (1/2 cup )
Vanilla - 1 teaspoon
Eggs - 2
Apples - 2 no
Plain flour- 120 grams (1 cup )
Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
Granulated sugar- 1 teaspoon
Icing sugar - for dusting
Bake in a preheated oven at 180•c for 20 to 25 minutes.
Pan size - 7 inch

RECIPE for Nancie’s Fresh Apple Cake with Pecans and Easy Brown Sugar Glaze
Fresh Apple Cake
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon salt
3 eggs
1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups finely chopped apples
1 cup coarsely chopped pecans or walnuts
Brown Sugar Glaze
1 1/4 cup lightly packed light brown sugar
6 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 tablespoons evaporated milk, half & half, cream, or whole milk
Heat the oven to 350 F. Grease a 13-by-9-inch pan, or two 8- or 9-inch cake pans, round or square. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, sugar, soda, and salt, and stir with a fork, a whisk or a large spoon to mix everything together well.
In a large bowl, beat the eggs with a whisk, a fork, a wooden spoon or a mixer at low speed, until pale yellow and foamy. Add the oil and the vanilla, and beat well. Gently stir in the flour mixture, stopping as soon as the flour disappears. Add the apples and nuts, stir to mix them into the batter evenly, and then quickly scrape the thick, chunky batter into the prepared pans.
Bake at 350 for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown, springs back when touched lightly near the center, and is beginning to pull away from the sides of the pan. Place the cake on a wire cooling rack or a folded kitchen towel. Make the glaze while the cake is hot. Combine all the ingredients in a medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring often, until the mixture comes to a gentle boil. Boil, stirring often, until the mixture is smooth and thickened a little, and flows off the spoon in a luscious stream. Spoon the glaze all over the hot-from-the-oven cake. Let the glazed cake cool completely, and serve in squares right from the pan.
