How To make Macadamia Nut French Toast
4 lg Eggs, lightly beaten
1/4 c Sugar
1/4 ts Ground nutmeg
2/3 c Orange juice
1/3 c Milk
1/2 ts Vanilla extract
1 (16-oz) loaf Italian bread,
- cut into 1-inch slices 2/3 c Butter or margarine, melted
1/2 c Macadamia nuts, chopped
Garnishes: powdered sugar, - ground nutmeg
Combine eggs and next 5 ingredients, stirring well. Fit bread slices in a single layer into a lightly greased 13x9x2-inch baking dish. Pour egg mixture over bread slices; cover and refrigerate hours or overnight, turning bread once. Pour butter in a 15x10x2-inch jellyroll pan; place bread slices in a single layer in pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes; sprinkle with nuts. Bake 10 additi minutes. Garnish, if desired, and serve immediately with maple syrup. Source: Country Living, November 1995

At last, Mike's killer french toast recipe. This baby is made with gluten free cinnamon and raisin bread, free range eggs, crushed macadamia nuts, and plantains. Served up with butter and organic maple syrup, loaded with flavor and fun. Still high in carbs but worth it once in a while.

I used a high quality challah bread that contains no preservatives & sweetened with local honey from @gratefulbread. You can find them in stores all over NorCal or order online
????INGREDIENTS
— 4 slices of bread
— 2 eggs
— 1/3 cup choice of milk
— 1/2 tbsp sugar
— 1 tsp vanilla extract
— 1/4 tsp salt
— 1 cup Cap’n Crunch cereal
— 1/2 cup macadamia nuts
— Choice of oil for cooking
— Butter
— Maple syrup
Optional toppings:
— Fruits (Strawberry, Blueberry, etc)
— Powdered Sugar
????INSTRUCTIONS
1. Mix 2 eggs, 1/3 cup choice of milk, 1/2 tbsp sugar, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1/4 tsp salt in a big container.
2. Put 1 cup Cap’n Crunch cereal and 1/2 cup macadamia nuts in a ziplock bag and crush.
3. Dip bread in egg mixture and then the crunchy mixture on both sides.
4. In a pan on medium heat, add oil and butter. Once butter has melted, evenly coat pan and then add French toast. Cook for about 3 mins each side or until golden brown.
5. Plate French toast and then add preferred toppings.
6. Enjoy!
