Add sugar syrup and steep for 1 week. Ready to serve. Adjust taste with extract if necessary. Yield: 1 pint plus Container: Quart jar

5x9 loaf pan (or similar size) Parchment paper Pizza cutter (Makes slicing easier)
4 Tblsp butter (plus extra to grease parchment paper) 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 cup dark corn syrup (I used Karo) 1/2 cup condensed milk 2 Tblsp molasses Pinch of salt 1/2 cup flour (sifted) 1/2 Tblsp Anise Extract (I use Mccormick) 1 tsp black food coloring

Anise Liqueur
Anise Liqueur 5 cups sugar 2 ½ cups water 5 cups alcohol (99% for consumption) or aguardente 2 tbsp anise extract
In a pot, add sugar and water. Bring to a boil until the sugar is syrup. With a spoon, lift up the syrup, if it forms a constant flow, it is ready. Let the syrup cool, once it is cool, add aguardente and anise extract. Pour into bottles and let sit in a cool place for a couple days. The syrup should begin to crystallize around the bottle.
