How To make Lemon Ginger Beef
3/4 lb Flank steak
1 tb Cornstarch
1 tb Dry sherry
2 tb Peanut oil
1 cl Garlic,minced
1 Lemon Ginger Sauce
* (recipes follows) * 1 c Thin,diagonally sliced,
Carrots 1 md Onion,cut into chunks
1 cn (16 oz) cut green beans
1 c Sliced fresh mushrooms
LEMON GINGER SAUCE:
1 tb Fresh lemon juice
2 tb Honey
1 tb Dry sherry
1 tb Slivered ginger root
1 cl Garlic,minced
1 ts Cornstarch
Slice meat into thin bite-size pieces, cutting across the grain. Combine with cornstarch,sherry, 1 tablespoon oil and the garlic. Marinate for 30 minutes. Prepare Lemon Ginger Sauce; set aside. Heat wok or skillet. Add remaining 1 tablespoon of oil. Stir fry the meat 2 to 3 minutes or just until cooked. Remove from pan; set aside. Add carrot and onion. Stir fry for 2 minutes. Add 1 tablespoon of bean liquid. Cover and steam for 2 minutes or until tender crisp. Add drained beans,mushrooms and Lemon Ginger Sauce. Bring to a boil; cook,stirring constantly, until thickened and translucent. Add meat; heat through. Serve over cooked rice,if desired.Makes 4 servings. LEMON GINGER SAUCE: Combine all ingredients; mix well.

Pepper Steak : make the tastiest Pepper Steak recipe for your family - step-by-step guide
INGREDIENTS :
*2 pounds of flank steak cut against grain into thin slices
* 2 bell peppers cut into bite size pieces
* 1 large onion
* 3 cloves of garlic minced 1/2 thumb size ginger minced
* 6 tablespoons oil (1/3 for marinade, 1/3 for stir frying of steak, 1/3 for stir frying vegetables)
* 1&1/2 tablespoon of honey
* 1/2 tablespoon chicken seasoning (substitute with all purpose seasoning)
* Pinch each of crushed black pepper for marinade, and slurry
* 1/2 cup of water
* 2 tablespoon of soy sauce (1/2 light and 1/2 dark)
* 3 tablespoons corn starch (1/2 for marinade, 1/2 for slurry)
Instructions
1. Marinate meat for 20-30 minutes prior to cooking.
2. Place skillet on medium heat, add oil, wait till oil is sizzling hot and place steak in batches,
spread out in pan for 2 minutes on each side, to obtain a sear/caramelization.
3. Transfer cooked steak to a bowl to stop cooking. Repeat this process till all steak is cooked.
4. Proceed with cooking vegetables in a wok by adding remaining oil to wok in high heat. Add
remaining garlic and ginger, crushed black pepper and salt, stir and cook for under 30
seconds. Add vegetables and cook to your preferred crunch/done-ess.
Notes: I cooked the vegetables not exceeding 1 minute. Add slurry (combination of water, corn starch, soy sauce, garlic and ginger), stir till thickened. Add cooked steak and stir to combine. Remove wok from heat and serve with rice.

This vegan ginger beef recipe uses tender homemade beefy beefless seitan, coated in a crispy fried batter, and dressed with sweet ginger beef sauce. It's super delicious and just as good, or better than Chinese take-out ginger beef (AKA ginger fried beef or deep fried shredded beef in chili sauce).

Ginger beef is a Chinese Canadian invention. According to Wikipedia, it was developed for the local palate in the 1970's by chef George Wong at the Silver Inn in Calgary, Alberta. It's made from strips of beef, battered in a mixture of egg and cornstarch and deep fried before being covered in a very sweet and somewhat tangy sauce. It's on practically every Chinese take-out menu here in Calgary, even the vegetarian Chinese restaurant menus. By popular request, I developed this vegan ginger beef recipe for anyone and everyone who craves the taste and crunch of ginger beef without the meat and eggs.
