How To make Hungarian Meatballs
1 x Recipe of Basic Meatballs; * 1 tb Vegetable Oil
2 ea Onions; Md., Thinly Sliced 3/4 c Water
3/4 c Red Wine; Dry, ** 1 ts Caraway Seed
2 ts Paprika 1/2 ts Marjoram Leaves
1/2 ts Salt 1/4 c Water
2 tb Flour; Unbleached
* See Recipe 12. ** You can substitute a mixture of 3/4 cup of water, 1 tsp of instant

Prepare the basic meatballs and set aside. Heat the oil in a large skillet. Add the onions and cook and stir until they are tender. Add the cooked meatballs, 3/4 cup of water, the wine, caraway seed, paprika, marjoram leaves and salt. Heat to boiling then reduce the heat and cover. Simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Mix 1/4 cup of water and the flour, stir into the sauce mixture. Heat to boiling, stirring carefully. Boil and stir for 1 minute. NOTE: Serve with either boiled potatoes or noodles for a great main dish. :

Today I am making Hungarian Fried Meatballs. Easy to make, and often eaten with creamy vegetable stews such as yellow wax beans, green beans, savoy cabbage, creamy potato stews.
French fries, mashed potato or even a slice of fresh bread would go with these meatballs.
The meatballs are soft inside, yet crispy outside and I really recommend to try it.
There are many different ways of making Hungarian meatballs, but this recipe is our favorite.

Hozzávalók:
500 g darált sertéshús (lapocka, v. comb)
3 tojás
1 kis fej vöröshagyma
1-2 gerezd fokhagyma
3 zsömle
2 teáskanál majoranna
1 ek. napraforgó olaj
só
bors
natúr szárított zöldségkeverék fűszer mix (elhagyható)

3 eggs
1 small head of onion
1-2 cloves of garlic
3 buns
2 teaspoons marjoram
1 tbsp sunflower oil
salt
pepper
natural dried vegetable spice mix (can be omitted)

- 750 minced pork
- 1 medium onion
- 4 garlic cloves
- 2 eggs
- 4 tsp paprika powder
- 100g rice (I used long-grain rice)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Sauerkraut:
- 1 large onion
- 900 g sauerkraut
- 1 and 1/2 tbsp paprika powder
- 2 bay leaves
- Chicken stock
