How To make Hearty Spaghetti Sauce
3 ts Olive or other vegetable oil
3 c Garlic, finely chopped
2 Onions, finely chopped
2 Celery
2 Carrots, finely chopped
1 1/2 lb Ground beef
1 c Milk
2 c Tomatoes with juice
1/4 ts Chili peppers, dried, hot re
1/2 ts Basil, dried
1/2 ts Oregano, dried
1 ts Parsley, fresh or
1 ts Parsely, dried
1 ts Salt, or more to taste
1/4 ts Pepper
Fat grams per serving: Approx. Cook Time: 1:30 Heat oil in a deep large skillet or dutch oven. Add garlic, onions, celery and carrots. Cook until vegetables are tender. (about 8 minutes). Add meat and brown, discard excess fat, if any. Add milk, cook covered 20 minutes over medium low heat. Break up tomatoes. Add to meat mixture with juices. Add remaining ingedients. Cook uncovered 1 hour. Taste and add seasoning if necessary.

Hearty Spaghetti Sauce
2lbs of ground meat (recommend half ground meat half italian sausage, increase seasonings if just using plain ground meat)
1 sm to medium bell pepper diced
1 sm to medium yellow onion diced
2 cloves of garlic minced
1/4 cup red wine (optional)
1-14.5 ounce can of diced tomatoes
1-14.5 ounce can of tomato sauce
3 ounces of tomato paste
1/2 cup water (if needed)
1/4 to 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons chopped fresh italian parsley
1/2 teaspoon dried or fresh oregano
1 teaspoon dried or fresh basil
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1/2 to 1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
Kosher salt to taste (about 1/2 teaspoon to start)
Brown the meat, drain if necessary.
Add peppers and onions to pan and meat until softened.
Add garlic for about 30-60 seconds (just until aromatic).
Using red wine (or water), de-glaze the pan for about 30 seconds scraping any brown bits off the bottom.
Add all remaining ingredients, stir, and simmer covered on low for minimum 30 minutes up to 3 hours.
Check seasoning half way through cooking time.
Serve over spaghetti squash for a primal friendly hearty meal. Freeze extra sauce for quick meals.

4. ITALIAN SEASONING & OREGANO - 2-3 TEASPOONS EACH
5. MINCED GARLIC - 2 -3 TEASPOONS
6. 1 - 6 OZ. CAN OF TOMATO PASTE
7. 1 CAN OF ROTEL MILD DICED TOMATOES & GREEN CHILIES
8. 1 JAR OF ROASTED GARLIC & HERB PASTA SAUCE
( ANY SAUCE OF YOUR CHOOSING CAN BE USED ALSO)
9. 1 - 16 OZ BOX OF SPAGHETTI
10. 1 PKG OF SPAGHETTI SAUCE MIX ( YOUR PREFERENCE)
11. 1 MEDIUM ONION & GREEN PEPPER - DICED
12. 2 TEASPOONS OF SUGAR ( OPTIONAL )
13. OLIVE OIL - 3 - 4 TBLS
14. WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE ( NOT SHOWN IN VIDEO )
COOKING DIRECTIONS:
1. ADD OLIVE OIL TO A SKILLET ON MEDIUM HIGH HEAT
2. ADD DICED ONION & GREEN PEPPER - SAUTE UNTIL SOFT
3. ADD THE MINCED GARLIC - MIX WELL. PUT VEGGIE MIXTURE ASIDE.
4. IN A DUTCH OVEN OR DEEP POT -ON MEDIUM HIGH HEAT. ADD 2 TBLS OF OLIVE OIL.
5. ADD THE GROUND BEEF & BEGIN TO BROWN.
6. ADD 2 - 3 TBLS OF WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE . CONITNUE COOKING GROUND BEEF UNTIL NO LONGER PINK .
7. ADD THE SPAGHETTI SAUCE, TOMATO PASTE, SPAGHETTI SAUCE MIX, OREGANO, ITALIAN SEASONING, ONION & GARLIC POWDERS , BLACK PEPPER.
8. ADD THE RESERVED VEGGIE MIX. STIR UNTIL WELL COMBINED.
9. COVER THE POT & COOK ON MEDIUM LOW HEAT FOR 1 1/2 HOURS. STIR EVERY 15 TO 20 MINUTES.
10. AFTER 1 1/2 HOURS , TASTE & ADJUST YOUR SEASONINGS. ADD THE SUGAR & STIR WELL. ( OPTIONAL )
11. COVER & SIMMER ON LOW 1 TO 2 HOURS. CONTINUE TO STIR EVERY 20 MINUTES.
12. COOK THE PASTA ACCORDING TO THE PACKAGE INSTRUCTIONS.

After a hard day holding up the office, it’s nice to come home and make this easy hearty spaghetti and sauce. This is my go-to weeknight spaghetti sauce. It’s loaded with hearty ingredients and can be simply made in minutes. In this recipe, I will show you how to make spaghetti sauce – not just any spaghetti sauce but a Johnny Mac Hearty weeknight spaghetti sauce. Oh, and you may call it spaghetti gravy if you prefer. Either way, it will not disappoint! ????
Johnny Mac spaghetti sauce ingredients
0:13 1 tbsp or 15ml olive oil
0:22 1 lb or 500g ground beef (I used lean ground beef)
0:45 1/2 white onion
1:01 8oz or 226g chopped mushrooms
1:20 1 tbsp dried basil
1:31 1 tbsp oregano
1:56 1 tbsp tomato paste
2:24 14.5 oz can of diced tomatoes
2:31 15 oz can of tomato sauce
2:51 1 tsp garlic powder
3:31 1 celery stem with leaves
3:33 1 bay leaf
3:35 2 sugar cubes
3:39 1 cup of water
3:45 Salt and pepper to taste
