How To make Harvest Sugar Cookies
3/4 c Butter or margarine; softene
1 c Sugar
2 Eggs
1 ts Vanilla extract
2 3/4 c All-purpose flour
1 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Salt
Frosting or additional sugar Recipe by: TASTE OF HOME - OCT/NOV 95 In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; beat until light and fluffy. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. chill for 1 hour or until firm. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough to 1/4" thickness. Cut with pumpkin or leaf cookie cutters or others of your choice. Using a floured spatula, place cookies on greased baking sheets. Sprinkle with sugar if desired (or frost baked cookies after they have cooled). Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until lightly cookies) -----

225 grams (1 cup) Unsalted Butter
200 grams (1 cup)Granulated Sugar
2 tsp Vanilla Extract
1 egg
1 tsp Orange/Lemon Zest (optional)
440 grams (3.5 cups) All Purpose Flour
1 tsp Baking Powder
1/4 tsp Salt

1937 Caramel Sugar Cookies Recipe - Old Cookbook Show
1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup white sugar
½ cup brown sugar, sifted
3 beaten eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 ¾ cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon soda
Cream the fat. Add the white and brown sugars a little bit at a time and cream together with the butter or margarine very thoroughly. Add beaten eggs and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together and stir well into the first mixture. Chill the dough. Roll to about a fourth of an inch in thickness, sprinkle with sugar and run the rolling pin lightly over the sugar to press it slightly into the top of the sheet. Cut out the cookies, place on a cookie sheet and bake at 350ºF.
