Making a Ham and Cheese Stromboli
In this video we make a ham and cheese Stromboli using a 3 day pizza dough and our Baking Steel. Envision a steamy hot ham and cheese sandwich, melted cheese and hot pickles. Thats pretty much what we got here. It was truly epic.

Ham and Cheese Stromboli
Directions
1. Preheat the Baking Steel in your oven at 450 F for one hour. If you don't have a Baking Steel, a pizza stone will do for now.
2. Stretch the dough into a long, skinny oval, approximately 12 by 6 inches. Place the dough on top of a sheet of parchment paper (it doesn’t need to be floured).
3. Spread brown mustard all over the dough, leaving a ¼ border around the edges.
4. Sprinkle all over with salt and pepper, to taste. Top with the remaining ingredients (we used ham, sopressata, sliced white onions and pickles, then roll, jelly-roll style, pinching off the ends after rolling to form a seal. Brush the top with olive oil.
5. Place the sheet of parchment paper with the Stromboli on top of pizza peel, and use the peel to launch it onto the Baking Steel. Bake for 12 to 14 minutes, using the pizza peel to rotate every few minutes, until the stromboli is golden-brown with some darker, toasty-looking spots on top.
6.Shove your pizza peel under the parchment to remove the stromboli from the oven. Let it cool for a few minutes, then slice into thick diagonals.

• 1-1½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

• 1 egg beaten
• 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese

1️⃣ 00:00:14 - In bowl of stand mixer whisk together water, sugar and yeast. Add in flour and salt and with dough hook mix on medium speed just until dough comes together.
2️⃣ 00:00:52 - Transfer to a lightly greased bowl, cover and let rise for 1 hour.
3️⃣ 00:01:00 - Preheat oven to 400. Turn dough out onto lightly floured piece of parchment paper and roll out into a large rectangle.
4️⃣ 00:01:39 - Spread your pizza sauce over dough until about 1 away from edges. Top with sliced cold cuts or pepperoni and then sprinkle with cheese.

Ham Stromboli | D'Orsogna Recipe
Ingredients:
3-4 slices Premium Australian Ham off the Bone (available at Woolworths deli counter)
1 large round pre-cooked pizza base
½ Green bell pepper, thinly sliced
½ Red bell pepper, thinly sliced
½ Yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced
½ small Onion, thinly sliced
1 clove Garlic, minced
1 tsp Italian herbs
60g packet Spinach leaves
¼ cup Green olives, sliced
¼ cup Sundried tomatoes, sliced
½ cup Tomato sauce or passata
½ cup Parmesan, grated
Handful Mozzarella cheese, grated
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Bechamel sauce:
1½ cup Warm milk
1 tbsp Butter
1 tbsp Plain flour
¾ cup Parmesan, grated
Method:
In a heated medium-sized pan, drizzle some olive oil, add onion, bell peppers, Italian herbs, garlic and cook till soft. Add spinach to pan and stir till spinach has wilted, season with salt and pepper and keep aside.
For the Bechamel sauce:
Heat a medium-sized pot over medium heat then add butter, as soon as it melts add the flour and stir around for a minute. Add warm milk gradually and whisk continuously making sure no lumps are formed. Cook for about 3 minutes on a low fame and turn off. Let it sit for a minute then add the grated parmesan and whisk till all the cheese has melted, place aside for use later.
For the Stromboli:
Preheat oven to 180°C. Line a large baking tray with parchment paper. Place the pizza base on the tray.
Spoon out the white sauce and spread evenly to the sides. Sprinkle some of the grated mozzarella and cheddar cheese. Place 2-3 slices of the ham, and some more cheese. Spoon out the sautéed spinach and peppers evenly. Season with salt and pepper. Spoon out a few dollops of the tomato sauce around and another layer of grated mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
Roll the Pizza base with the toppings lengthwise like a jelly roll. Brush the entire Stromboli with tomato sauce and more cheese on top. Bake for 15-25 mins at 180°C or until golden brown. Let cool for 5 mins before slicing. Serve with extra tomato sauce, if desired.
Easy Italian Stromboli Recipe
Filled with italian meats and cheeses, this easy Italian Stromboli recipe is so simple to make. Baked until golden, it's perfect for an easy dinner or tailgate.
---------------------------------FULL RECIPE BELOW----------------------------------------------------
1/4 cup flour, for rolling
▢1 1/2 pounds pizza dough, room temperature
▢1/4 lb sliced pepperoni
▢1/4 lb sliced capicola
▢1/4 lb sliced salami
▢1/4 lb sliced provolone
▢1 cup shredded mozzarella
▢1 tsp garlic powder
▢1 1/2 tsp pizza seasoning, divided
▢1 large egg, lightly beaten
▢1 tbsp grated parmesan
▢1 cup pizza sauce, for dipping
Preheat oven to 425˚F.
Lightly coat a baking sheet with cooking spray OR sprinkle with cornmeal. The cornmeal prevents sticking and adds great texture to the stromboli once cooked. (Don't do both.)
Lightly dust a work surface and roll the dough out to a large rectangle approximately 13×9 inches.
Layer the pepperoni on the dough leaving about 1/2 inch around the edge. Layer the provolone over the pepperoni and then top with the capicola. Sprinkle with the mozzarella and top with the salami.
Sprinkle with the garlic powder and 1 tsp of the Pizza Seasoning.
Roll the stromboli up jelly roll style. Tuck the ends inward and continue rolling until the stromboli is sealed.
Arrange the stromboli on the prepared baking sheet seam side down. Brush the top and sides with the eggwash. Sprinkle with the remaining Pizza Seasoning and parmesan.
Transfer to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and crisp.
Rest the stromboli for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Serve with sauce for dipping.
