Turkey Stroganoff Recipe - Recipe for Healthy Stroganoff
Chef Jason Hill shares his turkey stroganoff recipe in this episode of Chef Tips. This easy stroganoff recipe uses ground turkey or beef — but you can also use sliced chicken, beef and turkey in its place.
Ground turkey stroganoff is certainly not the classic version, but my kids love it, and it comes together in roughly 30 minutes. This recipe for turkey stroganoff calls for ground turkey, sliced mushrooms, beef broth, sour cream, carrots, egg noodles, Worcestershire sauce, and fresh herbs (such as thyme or rosemary).

Turkey Stroganoff Recipe - 43g Protein Meal Prep
I love taking classic recipes and making a healthy version of them for you to live a healthier lifestyle. This weeks recipe is a Hi Protein Twist on a Beef Stroganoff using Turkey! I hope you enjoy this simple meal turkey meal prep.
Turkey Stroganoff Recipe
Makes 4 Servings
Macros per serving - 364 Calories - Fat 7g - Carbs 32g - Protein 43g
500g Turkey Breast, Sliced
250g Baby Button Mushrooms, Sliced
2 Cloves of Garlic, Minced
1/2 Onion, Diced
1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
2 Tbsp Butter
2 Tbsp Flour
1/2 Cup Greek Yogurt
2 Cups Beef Broth
Salt & Pepper
175g Dry Egg Noodle
1. Bring a Large pot of water to boil and cook egg noodles according to package instructions. I recommend not starting the noodles until you beginning step 4 but getting the water boiling before hand.
2. Heat a large sauce pan over medium-high heat. Spray with no stick cooking spray and add the turkey strips. Season with salt and pepper and cook for 3-4 minutes until no longer pink, stirring frequently to ensure they do not stick to the bottom of the pan. Be careful not to over cook. Once cooked through (no longer pink), remove from pan onto a clean plate and set aside.
3. In the same pan, add in 2 Tbsp of butter. Once melted, add onions and sauté for 3 minutes or so. Add mushrooms and sauté for another 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms are cooked and the onions are soft and translucent. Add the garlic and sauté for 30 seconds, until fragrant stirring frequently. Add in 1/2 cup beef broth to deglaze the pan, scrapping up any brown bits on the bottom of the pan. Let this cook down for 2-3 minutes until most of the liquid has cooked off.
4. (Add egg noodles to water) Whisk together remaining beef broth, Worcestershire and flour in a bowl until smooth. Pour mixture into the pan , stirring to combine with the vegetables and simmer on low for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add in greek yogurt, stirring to combine and adding the turkey and all its juices. Taste for seasoning.
5. Divide into 4 portions over egg noodles.
6. Enjoy!
Ground Beef Stroganoff

1.25 lb. ground beef
1 small onion, diced
1 box white button mushrooms, sliced
2 garlic cloves, minced
salt & pepper to taste
¼ tsp. dried thyme leaves
3 Tbsp. all purpose flour
2 c. low sodium beef broth
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp. Dijon mustard
½ c. sour cream
dried parsley for garnish
cooked egg noodles for serving
Preheat a large, nonstick skillet over medium high heat. Add the ground beef and break it up with a wooden spoon. Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and sliced mushrooms. Season with a pinch of salt, pepper, and the dried thyme. Cook until the ground beef is browned, the onions have softened, and the mushroom are golden. Sprinkle the flour over top and stir to coat. Cook for about a minute over medium heat. Pour in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard. Stir and bring to a simmer to thicken for a few minutes. Turn off heat and stir in the sour cream. Taste for seasoning and add more salt and pepper if necessary. Serve over cooked egg noodles and sprinkle with dried parsley as a garnish, if desired.

Easy Ground Turkey or Ground Beef Stroganoff
INGREDIENTS:
1 pound cooked egg noodles
1 pound ground turkey or beef
1 cup diced onions
1 cup diced carrots
3/4 cup frozen peas
8 oz package sliced mushrooms
2-3 cloves minced garlic
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
salt and black pepper
1 tsp. dried parsley
1/3 cup flour
1 1/2 to 2 cups beef broth
2-3 tbsp. sour cream
In a medium heat pan add a little oil and the ground turkey.
Cook, stir and chop until turkey is no longer pink..about 5 minutes.
Add diced onions, carrots and mushrooms.
Stir and cook for about 4-5 minutes.
Add salt, black pepper and minced garlic and cook for another minute.
Add flour, stir and cook for 1-2 minutes until well mixed.
Add broth and Worcestershire sauce.
Stir, turn heat up to medium high, bring up to a boil and
then reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes.
The mixture will thicken. You can add more broth to thin out if
need be.
5 minutes before it is done, taste for seasonings, add parsley
and peas. Stir and cook for 5 minutes.
Turn off heat. Add sour cream and mix well.
Serve on top of pasta or rice.
Enjoy.

2 Tbsp olive oil
2 Tbsp butter
1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
1/2 lb brown mushrooms, thickly sliced
1 garlic cloves, minced
1 Tbsp all-purpose flour

1/4 cup sour cream
