How To make Fresh Tuna(Aku) Portuguese Style
1/2 cup Vinegar
1/2 cup Water
10 milliliters Garlic -- crushed or minced
1/2 teaspoon MSG
1 1/2 pounds Fresh tuna (Aku in Hawaii)
1 teaspoon Salt
1/2 teaspoon Pepper
1/2 cup Oil
Flour (in shaker)
Mix together, vinegar, water, garlic and MSG. Pour over fish slices, and let stand for 1 hour. Spoon marinade over fish occasionally. Remove fish from marinade and pat dry with paper towels. Heat oil in frying pan. Sprinkle filets with salt, pepper and flour. Cook in oil until lightly brown. Serve with Sour Dough French bread. Use stale bread as fresh bread will be soggy. Pour the remaining oil from fry pan. Add the left over marinade and bring to a boil. Dip pieces of bread in marinade.

The making of my version of Shoyu Sesame Style Poke. Most people who try it seem to enjoy it very much! Dont really use any type of measurements it's all by eye and taste. The Fresh Ahi was provided by a fisherman friend of mine which was cut up in one of my previous videos. All the other ingredients I used can normally be found at your local grocery store. SHOYU SESAME AHI POKE:
INGREDIENTS LIST-
This ingredient list is for my version of this style poke.You can use either fresh or previously frozen. But for previously frozen I would recommend adding a little more salt and sesame oil because it seems to soak up the flavor more.
2 pounds Fresh or Previously Frozen Ahi(Tuna) cut into 1/2 inch size cubes.
1/2 tsp Hawaiian Salt or Rock Salt
1 tbs Sesame oil
1 tbs Aloha Shoyu or what's available to you
1/4 cup yellow onion
1/8cup green onion
1 tsp roasted sesame seeds.
You can add more ingredients to it if you want. I prefer to keep it simple with less ingredients but with a lot of flavor. I do understand that everyone has different preferences and taste buds though. I do recommend adding half the amount of ingredients at first and then to your taste preference.
