Ingredients:-
For Filling:-
Oil
2 Sliced Onions
1 Capsicum/Colored Bellpeppers
1 tsp. Chaat Masala
For Patty:-
1 Large Bolied & Mashed Potatoes
1 cup Boiled Green Peas
Coriander Leaves
Dry Spices
1 tsp. Turmeric Powder
1 tsp. Frankie Masala
1 tsp. Dry Mango Powder
¼ tsp. Ginger-Chilli Paste
2 tbsp. Corn Flour
Salt to taste
For Frankie Rotis:-
All purpose flour/Wheat Flour/Plain Flour
Oil
For Roasting and Assembly:-
Butter
Cheese Spread/Mayonnaise/Grated Cheese
Chaat Masala
Frankie Masala Recipe:-
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp cumin seed powder
1/2 tsp Garam masala
2 tsp Aamchur or raw mango powder
1/4 tsp sanchal or black salt
Mix all these powders and Frankie Masala is ready.
Method:-
Filling:-
Take some oil in a pan and saute the onions and the capsicums in it. Add chaat masala, mix it well and turn off the flame.
Patty:-
In a bowl take the potatoes, green peas, coriander leaves, dry spices, turmeric powder, Frankie Masala, dry mango powder, ginger-chilli paste, cornflour and salt as per taste. Mix these ingredients together while smashing the peas a little bit.
Take some oil in a pan and let it heat. Apply some oil on your palms and shape the mixture flat and oval shaped patties. Roast these patties in oil till brown in color on both sides.
Frankie Rotis:-
Mix the flour, salt, and some oil and make a dough. Roll out the rotis and half roast them on a pan without butter or oil till light brown spots start appearing on them.
Roasting and Assembly:-
Heat some butter in a pan and warm up the rotis on it. Take the rotis out and spread some cheese spread on them, sprinkle chaat masala, place the onion and capsicum salad, then the patties (you can mash the patties as an alternative method), and roll the Frankie as shown.

VEG FRANKIE
Preparation time 10-15 minutes
Cooking time 25-30 minutes
Serving 4
Ingredients
For Dough
1 cup Maida , मैदा
½ cup Wheat flour , गेहूं का आटा
Water , पानी
1 tbsp Oil , तेल
For Frankie masala
2 tbsp Coriander seeds , धनिया के बीज
1 tbsp Cumin seeds , जीरा
12-15 Black pepper cons , काली मिर्च
1 tsp Turmeric powder , हल्दी पाउडर
2 tsp Degi red chilli powder , देगी लाल मिर्च पाउडर
¼ tsp Asafoetida , हींग
½ tsp Garam masala , गरम मसाला
½ tsp dry Mango powder , आमचूर पाउडर
½ tsp Salt , नमक
For Chilli Vinegar
4-5 fresh Green & Red chillies , ताजी हरी और लाल मिर्च
Salt to taste , नमक स्वादानुसार
½ cup Vinegar , सिरका
For Filling
2 tbsp Oil , तेल
1 tbsp Garlic paste , लहसुन का पेस्ट
1 inch Ginger, chopped , अदरक
1-2 fresh Green chillies, chopped , ताजी हरी मिर्च
½ tsp Coriander powder , धनिया पाउडर
½ tsp Degi red chilli powder , देगी लाल मिर्च पाउडर
¼ tsp Asafoetida , हींग
2 tbsp Tomato ketchup , टोमेटो केचप
½ cup fresh Tomato puree , ताजी टमाटर की प्यूरी
4-5 Potatoes boiled & mashed , आलू
1 tbsp Coriander leaves , धनिया पत्ता
1 tsp Frankie masala , फ्रैंकी मसाला
For Assembling
1 tbsp Butter , बटर
½ tsp Oil , तेल
1 half Cooked Roti , आधी पकी रोटी
Potato mixture आलू का मिश्रण
1 cup chopped Onion with chopped Coriander leaves , प्यार और धनिया
¼ tsp Frankie masala , फ्रैंकी मसाला
½ tsp Chilli Vinegar , चिली विनेगर
2 tbsp Cheese , चीज
Process
For Dough
In a bowl add maida, wheat flour, water, oil and from a semi soft dough. The knead the dough properly and then keep aside for half an hour.
For Frankie masala
In a pan lightly roast coriander seeds, cumin seeds, black pepper cons.
Now switch off the flames and add turmeric powder, degi red chilli powder, asafoetida, garam masala, dry mango powder, salt mix and put it in a grinder jar and grind it into a powder. Keep aside for further use.
For Chilli Vinegar
In a bowl add chopped green & red chillies, salt, and vinegar mix it properly and keep aside for further use.
For filling
In a pan heat oil and add garlic paste, chopped ginger, green chilli saute for a minute.
Now add coriander powder, degi red chilli powder, asafoetida saute for half a minute.
And add the tomato ketchup and fresh tomato puree saute until cooked.
Now add the mashed potatoes and mix everything properly, cook it for a minute then add frankie masala and coriander leaves mix and remove and keep aside for further use.
For Assembling
Heat a flat pan on medium heat add some butter and oil then place the half cooked roti on the side and on the opposite side keep some potato mixture and cook both of them from both sides properly.
Now remove the roti on a plate, place the hot potato mixture on one side of the roti and add chopped onions and coriander leaves, sprinkle some frankie masala, chilli vinegar, cheese and roll it tightly.
Cover the frankie with a butter paper ¾ or ½ way thru and enjoy the hot frankie.

We all love street food, don't we? But it is unhealthy to eat it on regular basis and hence chef Varun has come up with a solution! He brings to your kitchen the most popular frankie. In quick and easy steps learn to make veg frankie at home with chef Varun Inamdar only on Rajshri Food.
Ingredients
For The Rotis
1/2 cup refined flour
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1 tsp oil
salt to taste
1/4 tsp oil for kneading
Water as required
For The Stuffing
1 1/2 tbsp oil
1 tsp crushed garlic
4 large boiled , peeled and mashed potatoes
3/4 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp chaat masala
1/4 cup chopped coriander
salt to taste
For filling
1 tbsp vinegar
1 chopped chilly
1 tbsp chaat masala powder
Shredded cabbage
Tomato ketchup
Method
- In a bowl add together refined flour, whole wheat flour, salt to taste, oil and water.
- Mix all the ingredients together and start kneading.
- Once done, cover it with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
- In a pan heat some oil, while the oil is heating up crush some garlic and once done add the garlic into the oil until it turns brown.
- Mash the potatoes and add them into the pan
- Mix it nicely and evenly then start adding salt, red chilli powder, chaat masala, coriander powder and once cooked turn off the flame.
- Make lemon size ball of the dough and apply some oil over them.
- Roll it into a flatbread with rolling pin.
- Place the flatbread on a heated pan and cook until there are few bubbles on the surface
- Flip it and sprinkle some oil and take off the flame
- For assembling apply some ketchup on the flatbread then top it up with shredded cabbage, place the cylindrical shape of potato mixture
- In a bowl make mixture of malt vinegar and chillies
- Sprinkle some chaat masala and top it up with cheese
- Roll the frankies
- Veg Frankie is ready to be served.
