How To make Egg Custard Pie
1 Unbaked 9-inch pastry shell
4 Eggs; slightly beaten
2/3 c Sugar
1 ts Vanilla extract
1/4 ts Salt
1/4 ts Ground nutmeg
2 1/4 c Milk
Additional ground nutmeg Recipe by: Southern Living
Bake pastry shell at 400 degrees for 5 minutes. Let cool. Combine eggs, sugar, vanilla, salt, and 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg; beat until blended. Gradually stir in milk; mix well. Pour filling into pastry shell; sprinkle with additional nutmeg. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes; reduce heat to 325 degrees, and bake an additional 35 minutes or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool to room temperature before serving. 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour ______________ 14
2 tablespoons sugar ____________________ 2
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup cold butter, unsalted ____________ 22
1 egg yolk ______________________________ 6
3 tablespoons ice cold water
For the filling:
1 can (375mL) evaporated milk __________ 28
5 whole eggs ____________________________ 30
1 cup sugar _____________________________ 12
1 1/2 tsp vanilla _________________________ 3
1 egg white (*egg white from the same egg for the crust)
Total ____________________________________ 117 pesos

OLD SCHOOL EGG CUSTARD PIE ???? (FRIDAY NIGHT PIE OF THE WEEK)
This is an easy creamy pie that i grew up on
not very expensive ingredients at all
Very delicious
RECIPE:
4 well beaten eggs(3-4 minutes with beaters or mixture)
1 c sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/8 tsp all spice
1 tsp of vanilla
3/4 c evaporated milk
1 c whole milk
mix eggs in large mixing bowl for 3-4 minutes
add sugar,mix well
add flour and spices and mix well
add all other ingredients and mix
add to pie shell(9in deep dish)
bake for 50 to 60 minutes at 350 degrees (start to check at 50 mins for doneness)

1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp salt
baked in a water bath at 350°F for 1 hour or more depending on your oven
