My strawberry pie is made with seasonal strawberries and my Homemade Pie Crust, which I cut and lay as a lattice, giving you a beautiful peek-a-boo at those strawberries. A lattice shape works best when baking with strawberries. Strawberries release a lot of liquid when they bake, so your pie top will need to be partially open to let that liquid evaporate. If you use a solid pie crust, you're going to get a soggy bottom!
I also add some grated Granny Smith apple to this pie, which helps soak up a lot of the liquid the strawberries release and gives it another layer of texture.

Homemade Strawberry Pie Filling Recipe ~ Noreen's Kitchen
Greetings! When I asked if you wanted to see the strawberry pie filling/topping recipe, the answer was a resounding yes! So today I am sharing with you a very simple and delicious recipe for strawberry pie filling that you can use to put in a pie shell for a fresh strawberry pie, top your ice cream, angel food cake, pound cake or yes, even your funnel cake!
You are going to love this and it goes together super fast. Make it the day before if you want to put it in a pie for best results. This brings together the fresh taste of the strawberry and the sweet deliciousness of the glaze. You can also use this glaze to make that famous pie from Marie Callendars or Bob's Big Boy. Just use whole strawberries, allow the glaze to cool completely and glaze away!
This pie filling is not suitable for canning due to the addition of the corn starch. If you wish to can strawberry pie filling, you will need to research a recipe for it using clear jel and the proper procedure for doing that.
I hope you give this strawberry pie filling a try and I hope you love it!
Happy Eating!

Strawberry Pie with Frozen Strawberries ????????????????
Strawberry pie with frozen strawberries is easy and delicious. Instead of having to wash, hull, and cut strawberries, using frozen berries is a lot easier and faster. By using just the right amount of sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice, the strawberry pie filling is perfectly jelled and not runny at all. Although I use a homemade pie crust, you can use your favorite recipe, or even a storebought crust. With a jelled filling, crispy crust, and crunchy sugar sprinkle, this strawberry pie with frozen strawberries is the best combination of not only flavors but also textures. In addition to the flavors and textures, this pie is beautiful because the filling is a very eye-catching and vibrant shade of red. This strawberry pie with frozen berries is not too sweet, so it is just right if you want to eat it by itself or with ice cream: it is great either way. If you are looking for an easy and delicious pie recipe for beginners that is perfect for the spring or summer, or at any time since it uses frozen fruit, be sure to try my watch my video to learn how to make strawberry pie with frozen strawberries. I have no doubt that it will quickly become one of your new favorites!????????????????
