How To make Dreamsickle Cake
***CAKE *** 1 orange cake mix
(18 1/4 ounce)
2 teaspoons orange extract
***FROSTING*** 1 carton whipped topping :
(16 ounce)
1/4 teaspoon orange extract
1 carton sour crean -- (16 ounce)
2 cups confectioners sugar
Preheat oven to temperature indicated on cake mix package. Prepare 2 9-inch ro und cake pans according to package directions.
For cake, mix orange cake mix according to package directions substituting milk for the water. Add orange extract. Mix well. Pour batter into prepared pans . Bake according to package directions. cool thoroughly. Slice each layer in half horizontally, making four layers.
For frosting. Combine whipped toppping, orange extraxt, sour cream and confect ioners sugar in large bowl. Mix well spread between layers, on sides and over top of cake.

Now, for more about this delicious Orange Dreamsicle Cake! Being a Florida Girl, I love ALL things orange, so this recipe was right up my alley, with a refreshing orange cake and a creamy coconut-pineapple filling and simple icing! This cake is best after it has chilled in the fridge for a day, so you can make it ahead for your next picnic or get-together.

Orange Dreamsicle Cake:
-1 box Orange Supreme Cake Mix (may be seasonal in some areas)
-1 small box orange gelatin
-1 small box vanilla instant pudding
-1/2 cup oil
-4 eggs
-1-1/2 cups milk
Combine ingredients and beat for 2-3 minutes. Pour into 3 8 or 9 inch cake pans. Bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes or until wooden toothpick comes out clean
Filling:
-8 oz. Sour Cream
-1 can crushed pineapple (drained)
-2 cups granulated sugar
-2 cups shredded coconut
Mix ingredients and reserve 1 cup for frosting. Spread remaining filling between cooled cake layers and on top
Frosting: mix one cup of filling with 8 oz. thawed whipped topping (such as Cool Whip) and spread on top and sides of cake.

Ingredients for the cake in grams:
- 110 gr Softened Butter
- 40 gr Coconut Oil
- 160 gr Sugar
- Zest of 3 Oranges
- 3 Eggs
- 270 gr All Purpose Flour
- 3 tsp Baking Powder
- 120 gr Orange/Lemon yogurt
- 60 gr Milk
- 1/2 tsp Salt
Ingredients for the Curd:
- 3 Whole Eggs
- 2 Egg Yolks
- 80 grams Sugar
- 140 grams Fresh Orange Juice + 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
- The zest of 1 big Orange
- 80 grams of Butter
- 15 gr Corn Starch
For this cake you can either make my vanilla buttercream or my mascarpone whipped cream frosting. Both go really nicely with this cake.

- 1/2 tsp Salt
