Easy Chocolate Loaf Cake
Chocolate loaf cake is simple, easy, and delicious. I often make it up for dessert 2 or 3 times a year, and my dinner guests love it. The great thing is the recipe only involves a few ingredients, most of which you will have in your pantry. Get the recipe:
There are a few variations to the recipe that you might want to consider. First, I add chocolate chips to the top of the cake, but this is completely optional. You might want to add them into the batter, as well. White chocolate chips can also be used.
If you find there is too much sugar in the recipe, simply cut back a bit. Confectioner's sugar can also be used which is a little more refined. It's a matter of personal preference.
I find 1/2 tsp of baking powder gives the loaf a nice rise. If you want more or less of a rise, adjust the baking powder accordingly.
The cake can also be glazed with chocolate ganache or icing. The loaf goes nicely with a scoop or two of vanilla ice cream.

How to Make Easy Flourless Chocolate Cake | Dessert Recipes | Allrecipes.com
This rich and decadent cake is perfect for gluten-free chocolate lovers! Get the recipe:
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
15 ounces semisweet chocolate morsels
15 ounces unsalted butter
1 ¾ cups white sugar
10 eggs
¼ cup water
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Directions:
Step 1
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease a 10-inch cake pan with oil.
Step 2
Combine chocolate, butter, and sugar in a double boiler over simmering water; cook, stirring frequently and scraping down the sides with a rubber spatula, until melted and smooth, about 5 minutes.
Step 3
Pour chocolate mixture into the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment; beat on low speed until cooled, about 5 minutes. Increase speed to medium; beat in eggs one at a time. Add water and vanilla extract; beat on low speed until blended. Pour into the prepared pan.
Step 4
Place cake pan inside a large baking dish. Pour enough water into the baking dish to come halfway up the sides of the cake pan.
Step 5
Bake cake in the preheated oven until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean, about 1 hour. Allow cake to cool in the water bath, about 1 hour. Transfer to the refrigerator; chill until firm, 8 hours to overnight.

German Chocolate Cake Recipe Adjustments
German Chocolate Cake Filling Recipe found on the inside cover of:
Baker's German's Sweet Chocolate 48% Cacao
These are the adjustments I needed to make for the filling portion of the recipe. After cutting the evaporated milk down from 12 oz to 6 oz to get the right consistency, I had to increase all ingredients by 1/3 to get enough filling for adequate coverage for 3 - 9 inch layers.
Here is my adjusted formula:
5 egg yolks
8 oz evaporated milk
2 tsp vanilla
2 c. sugar
1 c. (2 sticks) real butter
9.5 oz flaked coconut
2 c. chopped pecans
I found the cooking instructions on the inside cover of the chocolate bar box to work well with these adjustments to the ingredients.
