And now...for all of those who wanted something that was healthier, or gluten free, or high protein...here's a dish that meets some of those requirements. Maybe. I don't know. But it's not deep fried. There's no sugar. And you serve it over spinach so it must be good for you
RECIPE:
Pork Chops with Curried Apples and Onions
You can substitute chicken cut into thin strips or bite-sized pieces. Excellent served with couscous to sop up the sauce.
4 pork chop each 1-inch thick
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried marjoram
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 large apple, peeled, cored, and chopped
½ onion, chopped
6 garlic cloves, minced
½ cup dry white wine
¼ cup whipping cream
1 teaspoon curry
Sprinkle pork with thyme and marjoram. Heat olive oil in large skillet and cook pork until no longer pink inside, about 5 minutes per side. Remove pork from pan and set aside.
Add apple, onion and garlic to drippings in skillet and sauté over medium-high heat for 2 minutes. Add chicken broth, wine, cream and curry. Boil until sauce thickens slightly, about 5 minutes. Return pork to pan and cover with sauce.
