If you want to serve up the tastiest, coziest, most delicious mulled apple cider this season, I’ve got your know-how right here. And, if you’re looking to spike it, I’ve got definitely got you covered there too!
???? ⬇️ ???? ⬇️ ???? ⬇️ ???? ⬇️
You can print out the recipe here:
Who doesn’t love walking into a house that smells like mulled cider? I think it’s half the reason we make it, right? Cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves — these are the things we need in life. So if you’re entertaining, this is the perfect beverage for welcoming your guests. #SpikedAppleCider for the win!
I’m going to show a few different ways you can take #mulledcider to the next level, making it the best anyone has ever had. Now everyone can have this rendition, we aren’t going to use a #spikedcider. But! Rest assured, once we’ve got that cider mixed up, I’m going to show you how to get really nice and booze for the participating grown-ups. It’s a great cocktail for any cold-weather gathering!
HERE'S HOW YOU MAKE MULLED CIDER:
1. Add 1 quart of #applecider to a pot.
2. Add 1/3 cup brown sugar, 2 cinnamon sticks, 3 cloves, 3 allspice berries, a star anise, a 1/4 cup fresh lemon, and 3 orange zest strips.
3. Stir and simmer for about 10 minutes.
You can simmer longer if you’d like to develop more flavor, but 10 minutes and you can taste those spices. Promise.
You can also slow cook it in a crock pot on low for 3-4 hours on low!
HOW TO SPIKE APPLE CIDER:
- FOR A SINGLE SERVING
-- If using only #rum, add 1 ounce of rum to a mug. Then, top it all off with a ladleful (about a 1/2 cup) of mulled cider, and enjoy!
- If using both the rum and the liqueur, add 1 ounce of ginger liqueur and only a 1/2 ounce of rum. Then, top it all off with a ladleful (about a 1/2 cup) of mulled cider, and enjoy!
- FOR A FULL BATCH (Serves 6-8)
-- If using only rum, add 1 cup of rum and stir. Serve straight from the pot or slow cooker!
-- If using both the rum and the liqueur, add 1 cup of ginger liqueur and a 1/2 cup of rum. Again, serve straight from the pot or slow cooker!
