Slow Cooker Meatballs in a Rich Tomato Sauce
In this video I make some delicious slow cooker meatballs that are well worth the time and effort of preparing and cooking. Once cooked you’re left with juicy meatballs in a rich tomato pasta sauce that's incredibly tasty.

If you want the full list of ingredients for this recipe you can find them below.
The Meatball Ingredients
• 500g (17 ½ Oz) Beef Mince
• 1 brown onion, finely diced.
• 1 tsp. garlic
• 1 Cup Breadcrumbs
• 1 egg
• 1 Tbsp. Parsley, chopped (Fresh or Dried)
• 1 tsp. salt
The Tomato Sauce Ingredients
• 1 Brown Onion, Diced
• 2 tsp. Crushed Garlic
• 2 Tbsp. Tomato Paste
• 2 Cans 400g (14 Oz) Diced Tomatoes
• 1 Tsp. Basil
• 1 Tsp. Oregano
• 1 Tsp. Salt
• 2 Bay leaves
You’re able to swap the beef mice for something else if you prefer a different type of meat. For example, chicken, pork and even turkey will work just fine in this recipe. It really just comes down to what you prefer and have in the fridge.
These meatballs are fine to just to have by themselves, you could even top them with a bit of parmesan. Alternatively, if you have a bit of time and you feel like it then pasta, rice or even polenta goes really well with these.
This dish is probably one of the more involved dishes out of the video recipes on this channel. However, you will find that it is well worth the effort involved.
If you end up with any leftovers, then be sure to keep them for later. These meatballs work perfectly in something like a homemade meatball sub, if you feel like trying something different.
If you prefer a richer tomato sauce with a bit of more depth, then red wine will help with that. Simply add at the same time as you add the diced tomatoes into the slow cooker.
I hope you enjoy these relatively easy slow cooker meatballs. If you have any problems, feedback or anything else that you would like to share then please don’t hesitate to leave a comment below or over at slowcookingperfected.com
BBQ Grape Jelly Meatballs | Crockpot Grape Jelly Meatballs
Easy BBQ Grape Jelly Meatballs made in a crockpot with just 3 ingredients
PRINTABLE RECIPE:
Ingredients
1.5 cups good quality BBQ sauce (I recommend Sweet Baby Ray's)
1 cup good quality grape jelly
32 ounce bag frozen fully cooked meatballs
Instructions:
1. Mix together BBQ sauce and grape jelly in the bowl of a large slow cooker.
2. Add frozen meatballs to slow cooker and stir well to coat them with the sauce.
3. Place lid on slow cooker and cook meatballs on LOW for 4-5 hours (or HIGH for 2-3 hours). Stop and stir meatballs halfway through cooking time, then replace lid and continue cooking until meatballs are heated through. Don't overcook or the meatballs will start to get tough.
4. Serve warm & enjoy!

Creamy Slow Cooker Swedish Meatballs
In this video, I make some incredible slow cooker Swedish meatballs that taste absolutely amazing. They go perfectly with a side of mashed potato and either some lingonberry jelly or cranberry sauce.

If you end up with some leftovers make sure you store them in either a fridge or freezer. Whenever you’re hungry simply reheat them in either a microwave or in a hot pan. Avoid reheating food in the slow cooker as it can be dangerous.
Potato mash works perfectly with this dish and if you have multiple slow cookers then you can cook it alongside this dish. This way you will have fresh mash and meatballs ready for when you go to sit down for dinner.
There are quite a few ingredients required for these Swedish meatballs, if you need a list of all of the ingredients then you can find one right below.
Meatballs
250g (9 oz.) ground pork
250g (9 oz) ground beef
1 onion, finely diced
1 tsp. garlic, crushed
1 cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 tsp. salt
Pinch of pepper
Sauce
2 cups beef stock
1 cup heavy cream
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
To Thicken
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
¼ cup cream
One thing you’re able to do if you’re running low on time is to skip making the meatballs. This in my opinion will degrade the quality of the dish but frozen meatballs will still work pretty well. You can get some frozen Swedish meatballs at any good supermarket.
Make sure you thicken the sauce with some cornstarch otherwise you will find that it will be incredibly runny. If it doesn’t end up thick enough for you then try adjusting the amount of cornstarch you add.
That’s all I have to say for these slow cooker Swedish meatballs. I really hope that you enjoy this recipe as much as I did. If you have any feedback, tips, or anything else related to the recipe then be sure to leave a comment below or over at slowcookingperfected.com
