Maple Cream Pie Recipe | How To Make Maple Crème Pie | Ellen’s Fall Baking Series
Hello my Friends, welcome to the thirteenth episode of my Fall Baking Series and to my Southern Kitchen!
Are you a fan of Maple? I have a special treat for you and this is the ultimate Maple Lover’s Pie and perfect for Fall Season, Maple Cream Pie!
Rich, creamy, decedent, and bursting with Maple Goodness baked in a buttery pie crust and topped with Maple Whipped Cream and toasted almonds; everyone will love and enjoy this dessert!

Ellen’s Homemade Pie Crust recipe:
Pastry for single-crust pie (9-inch) (homemade, refrigerated, or frozen thawed)
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 3/4 cups evaporated milk, divided
3/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup (of your choice), divided
2 large or extra large egg yolks, lightly beaten
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 teaspoon pure maple extract
Maple Whipped Cream
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon pure maple extract
Sliced almonds, toasted (for top of pie)
Ellen’s Magic: If using homemade or refrigerated pie crust, grease the pie dish with butter.
Preheat Oven to 450 Degrees
Line a 9-inch pie plate with the pie crust ; trim to 1/2 inch beyond edge of plate. Flute edges. Poke some holes in the crust and bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove crust from the oven then cool completely on a wire rack. (Follow the instructions about pre baking the crust if using refrigerated or frozen thawed).
For the filling: In a medium saucepan, add and combine the cornstarch and salt then add and stir in 1/2 cup evaporated milk and whisk until smooth. Gradually stir in remaining evaporated milk and 3/4 cup maple syrup. Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened and bubbly. Reduce the heat to medium to medium-low and continue to cook and stir for 2 minutes longer. Remove from the heat and stir in a small amount of hot filling into the egg yolks to temper and whisk until well incorporated. Pour the egg yolk mixture back into the pan, whisking constantly. Bring to a gentle boil; cook and stir 2 minutes longer. Remove from the heat. Add and gently stir in the butter, vanilla extract and maple extract. Cool to room temperature without stirring then pour it into the prepared pie crust. Place the pie into the refrigerator and chill overnight until firm.
For the Maple Whipped Cream: In a chilled large bowl with hand mixer, stand mixer with whip attachment or whisk by hand, add in the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and maple extract and whip on high speed until stiff peaks form (if using hand mixer or stand mixer). Add the whipped cream on top of the pie and spread it evenly. frost top of pie. Garnish with toasted almonds on top, serve and enjoy!
Refrigerate any leftovers.

How to Make MAPLE CREAM (1-Ingredient Recipe)
With a good quality pure maple syrup, candy thermometer, saucepot and a wooden spoon, you can make naturally sweet maple cream! Also known as maple spread or butter. One of the best tips I can give you is never to make maple cream when you’re in a rush!
It takes time to boil the syrup and then cool it to the right temperature before you start the 30-minute stirring process. With some patience, you will transform this 1-ingredient recipe into a beautiful maple cream. If you’re vegan, this is an excellent honey alternative.
CAUTION: Boiling syrup is extremely hot!

Creamy Maple Syrup Recipe
Serves 1 but can easily double, triple or quadruple the recipe
Ingredients:
1 Tbsp. real maple syrup
5 Tbsp. organic heavy whipping cream
1 Tbsp. organic butter
Sprinkle of cinnamon
Directions:
Place all ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir with a whisk until mixture comes to a boil. Lower the temperature so that the sauce simmers for 5 to 8 minutes stirring regularly until it thickens.
Pour into a serving container like a small mixing cup that can handle hot liquids. The sauce will thicken as it cools.
Serve over french toast, pancakes, waffles, or toast. You can also use this sauce for dipping apples into for a delicious snack or over cheesecake.
