How To make Chinese: Spiced Shrimp (Laht Ha)
1/2 lb Fresh prawns
2 Cloves garlic, chopped
1/2 ts Salt
1/2 ts Sugar
Dash of white pepper 1 tb Oil
:
2 c Oil for deep-frying
BATTER:
1 lg Egg
2 tb Flour
1 1/4 tb Cornstarch
SAUCE:
2 tb Thin soy sauce
1 tb Cider vinegar
1 tb Sesame oil
1 1/4 tb Sugar
5 Dried chili peppers, finely
- chopped, or 1-1/2 tsp. - crushed red pepper Shell, devein and wash prawns. Drain and pat dry with paper towels. Add salt, sugar and pepper, mixing well. While oil is heating to 350-degrees, prepare the battter by beating the egg, adding the flour and cornstarch. Mix thoroughly. Dip prawns in batter, drop in hot oil and deep-fry for 4 minutes. Remove and drain off excess oil. Prepare sauce by combining the listed ingredients. Heat wok, add 1 tablespoon oil, and stir-fry garlic for 1 minute. Add sauce and bring to a boil. Add deep-fried prawns, mix thoroughly, and serve. FOR DEEP FRIED PRAWMS ONLY: Follow steps 1 and 2 above. 1/2 cup Sitjar's Crispy Mix or any type of deep fry chicken batter.
Purchase at any Chinese grocery store. Add 1/4 cup and 2 tablesoon cold water. Mix well. Heat 2 cups oil to 350-degree. Dip prawn in batter and fry for 4 minutes, and serve. SOURCE: Chopstick, Cleaver and Wok.

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 to 3/4 kg shrimp
1 medium onion, minced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tbsp ginger
1 and 1/8 cup water
1 shrimp cube
1-2 pcs red chili
1/4 cup banana ketchup
1 tbsp oyster sauce
pinch of salt and pepper
3/4 tsp sugar
1 tbsp red bell pepper
1.5 tbsp butter
1 tsp soy sauce
add more 1 tbsp butter
spring onions (optional)

Chinese BBQ spice, or what we call 烧烤蘸料, is also an all-purpose seasoning that will make everything taste better. I will share six recipes to demo how to use it, including BBQ lamb skewers, spicy Lomein noodles, quick wonton soup, beef and onion stir fry, white-boiled shrimp, and spicy pork sausage. That will give you some inspiration so you can get the maximum use out of this seasoning.
Chinese BBQ Spice (Enough to Season 5 lbs of Ingredients)
4 tbsp of spicy chili flake (Amazon Link -

2.5 tbsp of cooking oil
1.5 tsp of BBQ spice to sprinkle at the end
Easy Spicy Lo Mein (1 Serving)
110g / 4 oz of dried egg noodles (Amazon Link -

1 tbsp of minced garlic
1.5 tbsp of diced scallion
2 tbsp of cooking oil
5-6 Chinese meatballs, optional
2 baby bok choy, optional
Quick Spicy Wonton Soup (1 Serving)
10 frozen wonton
1.5 tbsp of BBQ spice
1/2 tbsp of minced garlic
1.5 tbsp of diced scallion
1.5 tbsp of diced cilantro
2 tbsp of cooking oil
1/2 tbsp of Chinese black vinegar (Amazon Link -
350g / 1.5 cups of wonton boiling water
Onion and Beef Stir Fry (2 Servings)
300g / 10.6 oz of thinly shaved beef meat
2-3 tbsp of oil
200g / 7 oz of sweet onion, sliced
1 small carrot, julienned
3 cloves of garlic, sliced thinly
2 scallions, cut into 2-inch stalks
1.5 tbsp of BBQ spice
1 tbsp of soy sauce (Amazon Link -
White Boiled Shrimp (2 Servings)
400g / 14oz of deveined shrimp, preferably shell-on
2 liters / 8 cups of water
5 slices of ginger
2 scallions
2 tbsp of BBQ spice as a dipping
1 lemon, cut into wedges
